The boat ride is unacceptable. (Cinque Terre is nice)

A trip to Cinque Terre is an all day affair but it's worth it. There is a short train ride and a boat ride back to the bus. The boat ride is horrible. It's really overcrowded with people standing and sitting on the floor for 2 hours! Unacceptable! Add more boats or stop using these boats on this tour. I asked the workers on the boat if they would like to stand for 2 hours or sit on the floor...I complained. Unbelievable.
We didn't have a lot of time for traveling around in Italy. Having a chance for a day trip to CinqueTerre was great. A nice change of pace from visiting cities and our driver and guide were professional and pleasant. We appreciated the mix of information and free time. Obviously, if you have more time, you can visit and hike and swim for days...but if you've only got a day...this is the perfect way to do it. The day is long but...definitely worth it.
The tour was nice, the guide was wonderful but the time we spent in a public boat.... I would say it is not worthy. We could explore more cities or relax on less cities if we had used only the train. The boat is a big ferry that goes far from the shore on a very slow pace. Waste of time. The guide was wonderful and very professional.
This was a wonderful experience! Inna the tour guide was amazing. Because of her and her sweet personality I would definitely book with a tour through Viator again. Thanks for a wonderful memory and beautiful experience.
Great day trip to Cinque Terre from Milan. Our guide, Maritzzio( spelling) was great and shared a lot of information about the region and different areas as we traveled. The reviews are accurate when it comes to the timing and pace of the trip. It is fast paced once you are there and you do not have a lot of free time but you do get some. Unless you plan on spending 2-3 days in the area to explore, this is the best option to see this beautiful part of Italy and get some amazing photos. I would definitely recommended it and not pass it up if you have the time.
The Milan to Cinque Terre day trip was just as advertised. Our guide was good and we got to visit two of the five cities in Cinque Terre. The scenery is beautiful and I easily could have spent more time there. The only negative was that on the day we went it was windy and as such all the boat rides were cancelled in Cinque Terre, that meant that instead of taking a boat back and getting to see all the small towns from the water we had to take the train back. Even though the train runs along the water, you are in a tunnel almost he entire time and therefore cannot see any of the towns.
Really great views, but travel time and group size take away from the experience. Takes a little over 3 hours, including a bathroom break, by bus to get there from Milan. There's also some delays since the tour group is so big, maybe around 50 people, in terms of making sure you have everyone at each stop and that everyone stays together. Once we got there the views were great, but you have a limited time. Maybe 45 minutes at the first town and 2 hours, including your lunch time, at the second town. In terms of our guides, they were great in organizing everyone as best they could. It's just difficult to keep 50 people together with two guides. The day ended up being nearly 14 hours. The tour ends up being 60 travel and 40 Cinque Terre, but that's just due to the distance from Milan.
Every part of this tour was wonderful! The highlight for us was the visit in Varenna, a gem among the villages! The tour guide was knowledgeable, flexible, approachable and friendly. We also really enjoyed seeing the Cinque Terre from the sea on the ferries! Definitely worth the early rising!!
