4-hour Milan outskirts bike tour with Alfa Romeo and villa visits
Explore the Lombardy countryside immediately outside the city
View vintage and modern cars at the Alfa Romeo Museum
Stroll in the gardens of the 16th-century Villa Arconati and Villa Litta
Travel independently to the start point just outside Milan, easily accessible via a short suburban train ride from the city center. Meet your guide, don your provided cycle helmet, and hop on your provided bike.
Then, set off into the Lombardy countryside that fringes the city. Coast along quiet roads and picturesque waterways, passing cornfields and countryside, and visiting little cafes for refreshments (own expense) on route.
Arrive at the Alfa Romeo Museum, dedicated to the famous Italian automobile brand. Pay the entrance fee and explore the car collections spanning 1910 to the present.
Admire the vintage racing cars and other legendary models, perhaps visit the bookshop and cafeteria, and see the test tracks where past and new models have been trialed.
Then, ride to your two next stops — the 16th-century Villa Arconati and Villa Litta. Stop at both these stunning villas, once summer retreats for Milan's nobles, and take strolls in their ornamental gardens to see their follies and water features, some inspired by the ideas of Leonardo da Vinci. Subject to opening times and dates, opt to visit (own expense) either or both houses to admire their lavish interiors.
Afterward, pedal back to the start point, where your tour ends.
