Milan Super Saver: Skip-the-Line Duomo Tour and Evening Rooftop Visit

Super Saver: Dome In & Rooftop

Skip the Line: Milan Duomo Tour (1 Hour): After meeting your knowledgeable guide in front of the Duomo, Milan's immense and extravagant Gothic cathedral, learn about the history of the church, taking some time to study the facade of the sacred structure, including the statues and wicked gargoyles.
Head toward the entrance to the cathedral, going right past that long line and entering the building, thanks to the skip-the-line ticket. Stroll through the interior with your guide, learning about the overlooked nooks and corners of the building and hearing about some of the incredible artwork that's inside. Admire the 50 incredible stained glass windows, as well as, the sculptures and paintings.
Let your guide lead you down the marble stairway to the underground crypt. Here, finds the graves of St. Charles Borromeo, the archbishop of Milan in the 16th century.
After, come up to ground level again and exit the church. If you've chosen this tour on the weekend, take two hours of free time to see more of Milan on your own or tuck into a nice meal at a local restaurant. Or, if you've taken this on a weekday, commence the rooftop tour immediately.
Evening Rooftop Tour of Milan's Duomo (1.5 Hours):
Go back inside the cathedral with your skip-the-line ticket and then ride in the lift up to the Duomo's terrace, thus skipping the exhausting walk up the stairs to the roof.
Once on the rooftop, take in the amazing views of the city, getting close-up sights of the statues, spires and gargoyles. Take a moment to listen to your guide regale you with more history of the cathedral.
After spending some time up on the roof and admiring the views, head back down to ground level, as your tour is finished.

Worth every penny, a superb tour with an excellent tour guide, Chiara who was extremely knowledgeable and highly entertaining. We enjoyed every moment of this wonderful experience and thank Chiara so much for her quirky, professional and relaxed expertise. Breathtaking views on the rooftop visit although not for the fearful but so worth every effort. If you do only one tour this must be it

Our guide was knowledgeable and very personable. Her presentation was very entertaining. One of the best we have ever had. An amazing tour on the roof of the cathedral, but not for those with a fear of heights.

Fabio was full of interesting facts and anecdotes during the tour of the Duomo
and interacted with his audience. After a break of about 15 mins we then continued to
the rooftop tour which was again very interesting which topped off by a wonderful view of the city
and he pointed out the landmarks.

I would highly recommend this excursion! We did this on the evening of our first day in Milan, and what an introduction to the city it was! The tour guide was very nice, and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and will happily tell you more about Milano with regards to both the excursion and otherwise. The only thing I would caution is that we went shopping beforehand, and the security at the entrance of the Duomo tried to confiscate and by confiscate I mean throw away! the very expensive perfume I had just bought, and so I had to run back to Prada- where there very kindly agreed to hold on to it- so that I could enter. So bare this in mind, as well as the fact that women need to have both their shoulders and their knees covered so that they can enter the Duomo, though you could take the covering off once you get to outside onto the rooftop. A group of 3 women who were with us had to go to the Duomo to buy ponchos to wear inside the church, and they were relatively cheap and in abundance, as I guess many tourists make the mistake of dressing for the weather and not a Catholic cathedral! So if you take this advice you are sure to have a fantastic time!
