What To Expect

Your tour begins in the middle of Moab where you’ll meet your guide, and board the comfortable 4WD vehicle for the 5-mile (8-km) drive to the park. Once inside Arches National Park, your off-roading adventure begins when you leave the road by Doc Williams Point.

More than 2,000 giant sandstone arches are scattered throughout the park, which is the largest collection of naturally occurring arches found anywhere in the world. You’ll also find pinnacles, fins, and rocks along this epic landscape of rich red earth sculpted by time.

If some of this landscape looks familiar, it’s probably because you’ve seen it in the movies. Popular films like Thelma and Louise were shot in portions of the park, as were scenes for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

If you choose the evening tour, there’s a chance you could see a fiery sunset illuminate the red rocks. Once the sun is below the horizon, stars sparkle in one of the darkest skies in the country.

Towards the end of the tour, you’ll leave the park via an old cowboy trail. It’s here where you’ll stop to see fossilized dinosaur tracks stamped into the earth.

Finally, after several hours of backcountry exploring in the southern Utah terrain, your tour finishes in the center of Moab from the same spot where it began.

Arches National Park

Visit Arches National Park on a 4-wheel drive (4WD) tour that features spectacular sandstone arches and access to areas that most visitors don't see. An expert guide will maneuver your 4WD past red rock highlights such as Marching Men, Tower Arch and Eye of the Whale. Experience these monuments and more up close and learn about the park’s wildlife and history.

Mill Canyon Dinosaur Trail (Pass By)

Traveler Tips

The excursion itself was fun and I would recommend it, but you have to make sure to enforce the mask rule yourself.
A must do if you want a little excitement and great photo ops.
I would highly recommend this 1/2 day trip to all.

Part of the Arches called "windows". And we saw a FULL rainbow -with the arches in background! Great guide - knowledgeable. And its not extreme or anything
Awesome experience
Clay_S, Mar 2023
David, our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and geography. We saw many arches and dinosaur tracks, that we would not have seen other wise. Very worthwhile.
Claribel_F, Nov 2022
Beautiful views, great hikes, excellent guide(Rob). My husband and I had a wonderful time. We would do it again.
Thoughtless tour guide, horrible trip
Karen_L, Nov 2022
The trip we were taken on was horrific. It was NOT what we signed up for. We signed up for the typjcal park viewing. We were taken completely off the beaten track to the part of the park that only one percent of the visitors see, according to our guide. We understand why no one goes there. It is near impossible to reach. We constantly went over giant boulders and rock formations and down steep inclines, nearly tipping over at one point, getting banged and boomed around in the vehicle all because one guy wanted to hike to some out of the way arch. There were three of us in the group including two 70 year old women, vs. one of him. We should have been asked if we agreed to this trip, which we absolutely would not have, but were unwillingly dragged out on this horrific drive, despite telling our tour guide it was not what we signed up for. Thoughtless, inconsiderate behavior on the part of the tour guide and the tour company.

Great site, great guide
Martha_S, Nov 2022
We had a great time. Bronson, our tour guide, took us to many sites that are not accessible through the normal visiting area. He was very knowledgeable and professional and ensured my husband and I and the other couple we were with, did what was most enjoyable for each. e.g. hike, climb, take pictures. We had a very nice experience that we highly recommend to others.
A great introduction to a fabulous park!
Collin_M, Oct 2022
It was wonderful to see the dinosaur tracks! Larry was very informative and pleasant and a very good driver, too. What a gorgeous place!
Julie_M, Oct 2022
Our guide took us up close to 2 arches that we would not have been able to do on our own. He was full of great facts and info about the area and even dropped us off at a restaurant for dinner. Don’t hesitate…book it!!

Archer’s with Adam
Jocie_I, Oct 2022
We had a great time exploring areas in Archer’s that were off the beaten path. Adam was a great guide, full of information and entertaining commentary. He took us over some very rough terrain with great skill. We never felt in danger even though it was plenty exciting at times.
Dino Tracks and rock formations beyond belief !
Aleta_K, Oct 2022
Fun off road experience, loved the dinosaur tracks and eco explanations. We found this a good way to learn about the park.
Once in a lifetime tour...
pete_n, Oct 2022
Got to see Arches National Park from a different perspective. Very good tour . Matt was a very good tour guide.
The best off road I have been on!
Barbara_C, Oct 2022
This experience was so memorable! Our guide was the best! He had great knowledge and gave us great off road fun and we went places we could not have gone on our own. I have been on other off road tours. We got out at several places to hike, take pictures, etc. we had several stops to use nice toilets. This whole experience was the best. Plus we were in an enclosed vehicle which saved us from all the dust and we did wear helmets etc.
Great adventure with a challenging climb!
Lorraine_D, Oct 2022
Tower arch hike! Amazing! The tour guide, Damon, was so knowledgeable about the area, the environment, and the history of the Arches National Park. I particularly enjoyed learning about the soil and how it was formed. The 4X4 ride was oustanding as I had never been four wheeling and Damon made it look easy! We would recommend this adventure to anyone! Thanks Navatec.
We would use Navtec again
Justin was a wonderful guide for our backroad 4x4 tour of Arches. We learned so much and had a great time. Navtec is a great company, very professional. We felt very safe.
Julie_H, Oct 2022
Chance was an amazing guide! We toured off-road and got to see some beautiful arches on our own. No crowds, great history and stories, it was a magical tour. Would absolutely do it again!
Wonderful 4x4 adventure
Mark_B, Oct 2022
Dan was a wonderful guide. Because of his background in environmental science and providing guide services, he had a lot of information he was able to share with us. He was kind and patient with us. Traveling the backcountry versus the main roads was definitely a highlight. Dan took us on routes that at times did not have any other tourists in sight or minimal tourists. We also saw and hiked some of the "famous" arches. I would highly recommend this tour.

If you do this tour, request Bronson. He did an excellent job. He had a great personality, knew a lot about the area, and was genuinely concerned with everyone having a memorable time.

Levi and the Georgia hillbillies…
Jeff_H, Oct 2022
We all enjoyed our trip with Levi. He went above and beyond and made it a great experience for all. He was very personable and down to earth.
Fun trip
Kathie_J, Oct 2022
Enjoyable trip with a knowledgeable and friendly guide This is a closed 4x4 not an open air truck - a great mix of rough terrain and smooth roads
