What To Expect

This Moab whitewater rafting tour begins in the middle of town, when you meet your professional whitewater guides at the central Moab office. From here, you’ll receive an intro and safety briefing and get loaded up in the van, which will shuttle you out to the Fishers Tower section of the Colorado River. With its soaring spires, vertical canyons and deeply red-hued rocks, this section of river feels like blissfully remote, despite being so close to town.

Before boarding the raft for the splash-filled journey, get fitted with a lifejacket and listen as your guide explains the course of the river. Your guide will propel the raft by oars, so you can sit back and enjoy the scenic, sometimes bumpy, cruise. The rapids on this section are Class II-III and are the largest in early summer snow melts. If you choose to paddle an inflatable kayak instead of riding in the raft, your guide will provide a paddling lesson and make sure you can follow commands.

As you make your way down the Colorado River, keep your eyes peeled for birds and wildlife that can often be seen on the banks, and listen as your guide explains the history and geology of the rocky canyons. At the end of the journey, after splashing down the river or going for a swim, your trip ends with a short ride back to downtown Moab.

Half-Day Rafting Trip:Since there are multiple departures during the day, it’s easy to work your schedule around the 7-mile (11-km) half-day rafting trip. Lunch along the riverside is included with noon departures.

Traveler Tips

I’d just recommend going earlier in the morning as it can get very hot in the summer time.
I will probably reserve a level 3 or 4 in the future, but I highly recommend this trip to those that prefer to chill.
Emelie made this trip the best; even our weather changed quick and the Colorado River got little bit raugh, all was perfect. Her knowledge about the area is great.Make sure you are dressed proper and can just jump in the River.

Extremely unprofessional. False advertising. Horrible communication.

Extremely unprofessional. False advertising. Horrible communication. First, I called to clarify if there was any specific clothing requirements and they told us “oh ya, we need you to wear close toed shoes otherwise you cant go on the rafting trip”. There was nothing mentioning footwear on their website or the ticket. Then they let a few people go rafting without the right footwear anyways. Our guides used extreme profanity throughout the whole trip. They called their co workers to bring them beer for their afternoon shift and wouldn’t stop talking about drinking, drugs and partying. And they advertise this excursion as “river RAFTING” but it’s the 100% just a river float. No rapids at all. The guides admitted that all the facts they give about the scenery is “bull sh*t”. And half way through the river float they parked the rafts on the muddiest bank and said we could “walk around because we are running early”. But by the time we got to the drop off point the busses were not ready for us and we had to wait 30 minutes to get picked up and we’re late to our next activity because they were not on time. Huge disappointment. You would have a better time kayaking or swimming by yourself.

Elijah and Paul were wonderful driver/guides. Very fun and personable. The downside of rafting in the fall is the low water levels which apprised of more of a communal float than rapid riding. Would live to do this in the spring.
Fun Trip- Great scenery

Great fun! I had an amazing boat crew and Katie (our guide) was the best! Request her if you can. I thought there would be larger rapids, but the highest was a two. Great for taking photos though. I ended up even being able to kayak because one of the kayakers didn’t show— highly recommend!
Amazing views

Elijah was pleasant to be with. He made us an awesome lunch. It would have been nice to know that lunch was being offered ahead of time.
Super great time

While the river was pretty calm, we had an excellent experience! We learned a lot on our tour and the entertainment was great. Our guide Collin was a blast! Definitely recommend!
Fantastic trip for mixed ages.

Everyone we interacted with were great. Our guide on the river was Tiana. She was adorable and so professional. She gave us lots of river facts. She was very special with the young men in our group who’s 11, 14 and 16 year old antics kept us all laughing. Great experience and it was all our first time. We will definitely do this again.
How to waste 4 hours
Nikita_D, Jul 2022
It's such a pointless experience, I call it, the moment you fall into the 2.5-hour trap. That is boring! I do not recommend it to anyone. What I see in the photo before buying and what I get when I am already sailing in a boat is entirely different. It looks more like a fraud.
Rafting on Colorado River
Elizabeth_K, Jul 2022
Ethan was a good guide. He told us about what the rocks were called. When we asked questions he always seemed to have an answer. Took us over some rapids. We enjoyed our trip with him.
July in Moab
Deborahj_B, Jul 2022
Our river guide and driver were very pleasant. The river float was enjoyable, unfortunately the river was down and it was more of a float then rafting. Would recommend.

Very enjoyable, easy going, our guide Luke was very competent, accommodating our needs for swimming, information, letting us row the boat , explaining how to…..he is definetly the one in charge to make it a fun trip for all. Thanks!
Leisure float
Karen_K, Jul 2022
If you want a nice leisurely float down a river with about 5 or 6 small rapids this is the trip for you. I don’t recommend for true whitewater rafting. They were only class 2 and not enough of them. The swimming and floating down thru the small rapids with the life jacket on was fun.
Luke is a great guide!
Kyla_M, Jul 2022
Awesome trip. Waters weren’t running too fast so mostly floating but was very enjoyable. Luke was an awesome guide and made the trip fun. We had 3 duckies (inflatable kayaks) that were a ton of fun.

A fun time if you are looking for a more calmer white water rafting. Amazing guides, I felt very safe. Great if you are more on the timid side or have younger children.
Great river rafting experience!
Judy_H, Jul 2022
Cole was a great river guide. We had a great time. So glad we went with Navtec, it was a fun experience. Would definitely do it again!
Beautiful!
Phil_M, Jul 2022
Beautiful views! Our guide Katie was fantastic. We went in July so water was low and rapids were tame. Saw a bald eagle. If I did it again, I would book a tour with bigger rapids through the same Tour company (Navtec). We also did the Navtec 4x4 tour (awesome!) and are going canyoneering with the company in the morning!
