What You Can Expect

Fisher Towers Rafting Day Trip from Moab

Experience the thrill of rafting on the Colorado River through Fisher Towers

This Moab whitewater rafting tour begins in the middle of town, when you meet your professional whitewater guides at the central Moab office. From here, you’ll receive an intro and safety briefing and get loaded up in the van, which will shuttle you out to the Fishers Tower section of the Colorado River. With its soaring spires, vertical canyons and deeply red-hued rocks, this section of river feels like blissfully remote, despite being so close to town.

Before boarding the raft for the splash-filled journey, get fitted with a lifejacket and listen as your guide explains the course of the river. Your guide will propel the raft by oars, so you can sit back and enjoy the scenic, sometimes bumpy, cruise. The rapids on this section are Class II-III and are the largest in early summer snow melts. If you choose to paddle an inflatable kayak instead of riding in the raft, your guide will provide a paddling lesson and make sure you can follow commands.

As you make your way down the Colorado River, keep your eyes peeled for birds and wildlife that can often be seen on the banks, and listen as your guide explains the history and geology of the rocky canyons. At the end of the journey, after splashing down the river or going for a swim, your trip ends with a short ride back to downtown Moab.

Half-Day Rafting Trip:
Since there are two departures during the day, it’s easy to work your schedule around the 7-mile (11-km) half-day rafting trip. Lunch along the riverside is included with noon departures.

Full-Day Rafting Trip:
The full-day option covers 14 miles (22km) along the Colorado River, where the canyons, whitewater and wilderness are a dream for outdoor photographers. During lunch, enjoy a buffet-style picnic on a small beach set right on the banks of the river.

5 star rating: Highly Recommended November 2016

We had a lovely and competent captain and guide filled with interesting facts and humorous stories. As we were there in August, and we took the beginners trip, the ride was relaxing and meandering with some moderate whitewater. Fun!

The trip was great. The guides Cheyenne and Jonah were excellent. Our family of four would highly recommend the trip. We did the half day trip with lunch. Remember to take your own water bottle/container.

Tory was the best river guide we ever had. Yes it was early season, so the rapids were non existent, but Tory made it a great trip regardless. Go with NavTec any chance you get in Moab....they are incredible!

very friendly guides. I would have preferred more rapids. I don't know if when looking at trips if the scale of rapids 1-5 was in the description. We did not receive info on what to wear and bring, while others had.

Water was high, but that was not overly detrimental. Fast flow, and some big waves gave us several welcome soakings!

The rapids were not to scary - which was fine with us. Aubrey was our guide and she kept things very entertaining.

We had a very nice float trip with a very good guide. The only reason for four stars was that the river was pretty mild compared to others we have been on. They tell us that the time of year is critical to get good white water. I would highly recommend the service provider for the trip. It was also one of the most affordable we found in the area. There were other companies putting in and taking out at the exact same place on the river, but they were much higher on their rates.

loved the rafting but too much time taken up prepping lunch i.e. slicing oranges, rolling up turkey etc. This should've been done b4 trip. Standing in the hot sun waiting was not fun or cost effective for me.
1st time ever guides shared nothing about area/history. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
