What You Can Expect

Monaco Shore Excursion: Small-Group Monaco and Eze Half-Day Tour

See the Prince's Palace on your half-day trip to Monaco

Meet your guide at the cruise terminal once your ship docks in Monaco, where you'll board a luxury minibus and begin your small-group shore excursion. Choose a morning or afternoon departure.

Leaving Monaco behind, ascend one of the scenic Mediterranean coastal roads to reach the town of Eze. It's perched at roughly 1,400 feet (427 meters) in the hills, and offers wonderful views of the French Riviera below. Take some time to admire the historic streets of this Medieval village, browsing charming shops and galleries. Go on a guided tour of the Fragonard perfume factory to learn about the art and science of creating high-end scents.

Begin the drive back down toward Monaco, passing the quaint town of La Turbie on the way. It's sometimes referred to as the 'Terrace of Monaco,' and is home to a 1st-century BC Roman monument called the Trophy of the Alps (Trophée des Alpes)  which was built by Emperor Augustus.

Arriving in Monaco once again, you'll now have a chance to explore this unique principality. It's the second-smallest country on earth, though it feels very French. Those on the morning tour will get to witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Prince's Palace (Palais Princier), which happens every day at 11:55am.

Spend some time at the Monaco Cathedral, where Princess Grace and Prince Rainier are both buried, to hear about the principality's history. Next, drive along the city streets which make up the Formula One Grand Prix racing circuit. It's one of the most famous race courses in the world, and the event is extremely popular with auto racing fans.

Walk through Monte Carlo to see the extravagance on display in and around Casino Square, including manicured gardens, luxurious hotels and expensive cars. It's an excellent spot for people-watching.

At the conclusion of your tour, you'll be returned to the cruise terminal.

Worry-free Shore Excursion:We will ensure your timely return to the Monaco port for this activity. In the rare event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call. If your ship is delayed and you are unable to attend this activity, your money will be refunded. My name is Don Thorp. Our tour was taken from the Viking Sky cruise ship We spoke to several other guests on the Viking Sky who took a similar tour sponsored by the cruise line. Though the description of the tours was similar the tour itself was was vastly different ours was by far superior and complete. Our tour guide was excellent, her command of our language was superb and her knowledge of Monaco was interesting, educational and complete. Please forgive that we did not write down her name or remember it. She arrived on time and where she was supposed to be. We saw more, comfortably not on a large bus than those we spoke to on the boat. Both I and my feel that we received much more than our money's worth. Our travel agent Sandie Slusher of Travel Leaders recommended your company to us as excellent and dependable. She was absolutely correct in her comments

This tour was excellent, they were getting ready for the Monaco Grand Prix, our driver even took us on the route used for the race. The curves are crazy .... but fun. Lots of excitement around for the race. Great excursion, especially prior to the race date.

Initially our guide was waiting for us at the wrong ship....quickly resolved.

After that tour with Renault was excellent. He was professional and caring.
We are a group of 4 senior couples...slightly restricted physically...this private tour met our needs exactly.
We enjoyed our time in Eze and the overview tour of Monaco.

Can highly recommend Liven up Sightseeing and this particular tour.

Our tour was excellent! Nicolas was our guide and he was amazing! our ship had a delayed disembarkment and he was cool about waiting for us to get there! He was a very safe driver. He knew the ins and outs of the island and how to get around on what was a very busy weekend in Monaco - it was the Monaco Boat show weekend. The city was very crowded and some roads were closed but it was not a problem at all! I highly recommend this tour! It was a much more economical choice than what the ship offered!

This company is very professional. The boat show was in town and the city was a mess and difficult to navigate. Moman, our guide, was great...in,out, up, down, all around the town in a safe and efficient manner. We saw the best sights, got to see the changing of the guard, and visit a perfume factory. Great value and guide...top-notch company.

Great summary of the city with historical sites and wonderful facts provided by the guide. Enjoyed visit to Eze with beautiful scenery throughout the drive and views from the castle. Had the opportunity to shop at historical perfume factory. Definitely recommended for the attractions visited.

The best part of this tour was the Eze portion. Driving to this small village was a treat with all of the beautiful views. The small, winding cobblestone streets were charming as were the shops. Do not make the mistake that I did by not visiting the gardens. While viewing the gardens from above was nice, I wish I had taken the time to actually go in. In Monaco, it was good to have a chance to explore a while on our own. After the tour time ended in Monaco, my husband and I did not go back to our cruise ship with the rest of the group, but stayed over to have lunch and visit the Casino. Lunch was pleasant and fun watching all of the luxury cars cruise by, and we happened to get a table next to Super Model and Actress Naomi Campbell no,I did not ask for a selfie or autograph!. The only downer was that my husband was denied admission into the Casino when it opened at 2 pm because of his shoes. We never did understand the problem with them because they were not flip flops or sneakers.
