Morning Tour: Antibes and Cannes
Begin your day with morning pickup at your Monaco hotel and climb into a minivan for the drive west. Travel on the scenic coastal roads of the Mediterranean past Nice to arrive at the captivating town of Antibes. Join your guide for a walk through the historic part of the city, and don't miss a peek at the multi-million dollar yachts floating in Billionaire's Quay – they're some of the biggest anywhere.
Continue on to glitzy Cannes. Take a leisurely stroll down La Croisette Boulevard, then head for the Festival Palace. This is where the Cannes International Film Festival is held each year. Leave Cannes to see the charming Provençal town of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, a walled village where the narrow streets are lined with small shops and galleries.
Return to Monaco for a midday break, including free time for lunch (own expense) before the start of the afternoon tour.
Afternoon Tour: Eze and Monaco
After your lunch break, climb back into the minivan for another scenic drive – this time, up into the hills. The Medieval village of Eze sits at roughly 1,400 feet (427 meters), so you'll get excellent views over the French Riviera in between the walking tour and browsing the shops selling locally-made handicrafts and art. Take a guided tour of the Fragonard perfumery (included) to learn about the art and science of creating scents.
On the way back to Monaco, pass the town of La Turbie, sometimes called the 'Terrace of Monaco.' See the 1st-century BC Roman monument, the Trophy of the Alps (Trophée des Alpes), built by Emperor Augustus.
Back in Monaco, see the Prince's Palace (Palais Princier) and the Monaco Cathedral, where Princess Grace and Prince Rainier are both buried. Drive the roads used for the Formula One Grand Prix race, and stroll around Casino Square to admire the opulent casinos, hotels and gardens.
