This tour was amazing!! I had the time of my life! I traveled to Jamaica alone so I was a little cautious about going on the tour alone but the tour guide Wayne Smith was the BOMB! He gave me the history on Jamaica and took really good care of me!
Amazing day! We had a wonderful driver Tony that took us on our excursion. The Dunn Falls were gorgeous and an awesome experience I would do again. You can't bring anything with you during your trip on the falls unless you don't care if you lose it. There are pictures and videos that were taken along the trip up the falls for purchase afterwards. Be sure to bring a towel and a dry change of clothes for afterwards, and water shoes are needed but they sell them if you don't have any, I think they are 10.00 US. Then we went to lunch and had the choice of fish or chicken. I chose the chicken and it was traditional jerk chicken rice and some greens. It was ok, I wasn't disappointed in it but I wasn't there for the food anyways. Afterwards we went on a trip up through the Jamaican hillsides and the country to Nine Mile. The drive was a bumpy and long one but we got to see the part of Jamaica I wanted to see away from the resorts. The drive itself was an adventure on its own and if you get car sick really easy you might on the bumpy drive. It took awhile to get there but the beautiful countryside was worth it. We got to Nine Mile later than we had expected but still got to tour the house and grounds. To be able to say you got to go to Bob Marley's childhood home and mausoleum is a pretty neat thing. Now if you go you need to remember you are in a different country it's not the U.S. and also Bob Marley's house so things that wouldn't be allowed so openly in the U.S. may be ok there. Basically don't be surprised or offended by someone smoking something other than cigarettes in the area. Would I do this again if I had the chance? YES!!!
This was an excellent day trip. We looked at trips through our tour operator and this represented excellent value. Initially I thought it was pretty expensive but actually after the trip I definitely felt it was worth every penny.
We had Michael as our driver and he was absolutely fantastic and did a fantastic job driving on a very long day. We added the luminous lake on this tour and I would say anyone doing this tour just pay the extra and do it. It does make the day extremely long we left at 7:30am and got back to the hotel around 11pm or a little later but this was by far our best day in Jamaica.
On our tour we had 2 guides so Michael the driver who we felt was brilliant also had another guy who was mainly there to translate to a french couple but we found this guide pretty annoying to be honest. The trip states in the booking tips 'optional' but this second guide was pestering people to give tips all day to everyone which just became annoying. Michael was not like this at all and I wish we'd actually had Michael as the only tour guide for the day as he knew everything about Jamaica and was very friendly.
The journey to nile mile is quite long and the road it bumpy, but if you like bob marley this is a great experience. The dunns falls were better than we expected and it was good fun. The food lunch and dinner is included if you add the luminous lake was nice. The dinner with the luminous lake. The restaurant we stopped at for the luminous lake dinner was Joe James restaurant who's a local artist. We had know idea we would be dining here and it was a really beautiful waterfront setting and his artwork is on display. He was sat in a corner as well and said hello to everyone. To be honest I felt that was as good as Dunns waterfalls and was a very good added bonus to the day.
This is a great experience, do this when you visit. You get to see different parts of the island and some local culture. The mausoleum was humbling, the Falls was fun and the lagoon was life changing! We had Omar, and he was the best. He was fun and told us history and picked really great food!!
Simply Amazing! One of the best days every! very easy to book especially late bookings. Just note do not sit ont he rocks, you might just get bit by a crab. Also, don't follow the guids to the exit which takes you throught the market as they will just try and sell you things. The guid will follow you to the car and wait for you to give a tip..a large one!
This was, by far, the best day of our trip! We had a private car / driver who spent the entire day with us. We added the Luminious Lagoon option as well. Lunch and dinner were at cool little restaurants that we would not have gotten to experience otherwise included in the cost so don't get sticker shock!. The driver Sydney was AMAZING and informative. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough! No pun intended!!
I went also to Lagoone and I really enjoyed it soooo much!
Both of these tours were amazing. The Dunns River Falls especially is a must do if you are visiting Jamaica. The Marley Memorial is quite a way out and a bit commercialised, but well worth the visit. the tour guides were brilliant, very friendly and helpful.
This tour was great! Our driver, Wayne, was very knowledgeable and since we had a private tour he stopped along the way so we could buy fresh fruits and Jamaican delicacies. It was a very long day, but Wayne made it an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend this tour!
This is a great trip. I added on the night cruise at Falmouth for the luminous swim. It makes for a long day, but it really is worth it. The falls are beautiful. If you have any trouble with your back, neck, high blood pressure or other medical conditions that might make a climb on slippery rocks a problem, you can give the climb a try and there are a number of exit points if you run into trouble. The trip to Nine Mile was up a very winding road. It was like a roller coaster ride. Once there, it is definitely worth the trip. The tour of the grounds takes about an hour. If you are lucky, you will get the guide known as Captain Crazy. He is a riot. We stopped at a very nice restaurant right on the water before heading to Falmouth for the night boat ride. It really is an amazing experience. I was staying in Negril, so it made for a very long 15 hour day before returning to the hotel, but it was worth it. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who is visiting Jamaica. It gives you a chance to see natural beauty and to learn about one of its most famous past residents. Our guide Orlando was excellent. A very safe driver -- especially navigating the mountain roads to Nine Mile. Definitely worth your time.
