Visit historic Devon House on a full-day sightseeing tour of Kingston
December 2017
Had the most amazing trip and tour guides! Sheree and Delroy were so much fun and very informative, our party had the best time touring the historical sites, Devon House, Bob Marley Museum. We were able to see the changing of the guards at the National Heroes Park, as well as Kingston's Beverly Hills neighborhood. Definitely a fun trip!

Welcome To Jamrock
This trip was worth it from all perspective and a good introduction to Jamaica in so many levels. Staying in Montego Bay is wise because of its strategic location, the company is pretty good at pick up so if you stay like me in an Airbnb pick the closest hotel where you can walk to their lobby. The journey to Kingston started on time so contrary to what people say keep time, the drive was amazing keep your camera ready the scenery is amazing remember the Bob Marley song about over hills and valleys too...yes that was true. 2-3hrs with occasional stops especially just for bathroom and traffic on entering Kingston, we drove around downtown Kingston to understand the different entrance points of the city ask for Kings Street and other any Government Offices, then to Heroes Park where our guides were gracious enough to allow us to watch the change of guard its a must see here you will learn about the history of Jamaica and its hero, Oh we also took a detour and went to University of West Indies just a quick drive through inside the school and also Beverly Hill Jamaica guess who we saw fixing his car Asafa Powell goggle him then after that heading to Bob Marley Museum Park on a guided tour USD 25 to learn about the 5' 6'' legends life and where all the magic music happened, here we had enough time to complete the tour and still stake picturesnote at the museum they don't allow recording video and audio only still pictures because of copyright issues before having lunch at Usain Bolt Track Records Restaurant USD About 20 per meal..my favorite was Jerk Platter which had jerk chicken, festival and plantain Yummy and this concluded the trip. Actually by this time you are kind of worn out and most people slept on the way back as for me I continues talking to the guides to answer any questions I had, ask them as many as you have. Trip last depending on pickup location for us in MoBay 7am-8pm...guessing other places might be as early as 5:30a so stay in MoBay
Pros: 1 day for all this is worth more than what they are charging so value wise check 100.
Cons: I know your looking for negatives...negatives...I think it depends on who your guides are so ask for ANTOINETTE and Driver DEROY
Tips: Book with Viator this is a no brainer, stick with shorts and t-shirt or light clothes, carry lot water...I mean 4 bottles per person thank me later, good camera with back up battery or portable charger, be very attentive to guides because the amount of info you will get from the guides will live with you forever...I feel like I know more about Jamaica than I have ever been taught about. There you go

If youre coming from MoBay, be prepared for a very long but fun day. Pick up was at 530a and return was 8p. Tour guides Katie and Chris were FABULOUS! Not a lot of walking but VERY informational about not only Kingston but the island as well. Katie covered the first 4hours which was the ride to Kingston. Chris our driver was OUTSTANDING since he is from Kingston which made the journey that much more informational. No water activities on this tour. Air conditioned bus. Sites included Devon House ad the Bob Marley Museum You will need monies for the Museum if it is not a part of your tour as it was not for us but it is a stop in the day.

Great tour to do. It's a great way to see Kingston in a safe way. Tour guide was a bit rubbish he had to ask the driver for answers!. He also lied, as he said we would be going to Bolt's sport's bar/restaurant for dinner, but changed his mind and said 'just get a take-out and eat it on the bus!'. HA!! How cheeky! - we visited when it was the Olympics 2016, so Bolt was the talk of Jamaica so we had to tick off eating at his place!.

Absolutely brilliant tour and guide. We didn't have time to tour Devon House as it says in the itinerary, but we still stopped for ice cream. Our guide took us to Usain Bolt's resatsurant for lunch instead which was great. Definitely a highlight of our trip and a must do!

Our day trip from Montego Bay to Kingston was great! Our purpose was to get a better idea of the island of Jamaica as this was our first visit. We were picked up at our resort shortly after six AM by our driver, Garfield. He was great. He informed us of interesting facts along the route which provided a segway to information about Jamaica which he provided as we drove. The drive over the Blue Mountains included great vistas of the local terrain, and at various points, views of local small villages.
The drive through the city of Kingston took us through the port district, the business district, and a drive through the Jamaican Beverley Hills. From there we drove through the university grounds before arriving at the home of Bob Marley. Our tour of the house was interesting and provide another glimpse of Jamaican heritage and culture. A quick lunch at a local food fair and an ice cream at Devon House completed the tour.
The trip back over the Blue Mountains was quiet, but again offered similar vistas as the morning trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to gain a little more knowledge of the island.

This is a fantastic tour that should be number 1 on everyones list. Don't listen to anything you have heard about Kingston. It is a wonderful place to visit and nice people to meet.
Although, the other people on the tour who booked directly with JTL paid the same price as us and theirs included the admission to the Bob Marley museum. Also, we ate at a mall in Kingston and not at the Presidential House like it was stated.
