Meet your guide at your hotel in Guanacaste Province prior to a 6:35 a.m. start time. (Hotel pickup offered from most major cities; check “Important Info” tab for more.) Hop into a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle for a long drive to Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, one of the most important and well known cloud forests in the world.
As you wind your way through the mountains, enjoy views of coffee fields, forested lands, and grazing pastures in the Costa Rican countryside. Upon arriving at the reserve, walk across two miles (3.2 kilometers) of hanging bridges over the forest canopy, which allow close-up views of the flora and fauna in the area as well as an aerial perspective of the forest below.
Then, continue to one of the world’s largest butterfly exhibitions, full of rare and tropical species, and visit the world’s third largest private insect collection.
At the end of your trip, return to your hotel in San Jose.
Please note: A minimum of two people per booking is required.
