Rivière-du-Loup Day Trip and Whale-Watching Cruise from Montreal

Whale Watch

Following pickup at your Montreal hotel, board a comfortable bus and embark on the 5-hour journey to Rivière-du-Loup. On board the bus, eat a light breakfast while enjoying the scenic journey along the St Lawrence River.

Upon arrival, board the AML Levant on the south shore of the St Lawrence and head out to search for belugas, whales and seals. Stand on the outdoor deck of the boat, letting the fresh air fill your lungs and watching the rugged coast glide by. Snap photos of lighthouses and the islands that dot the water. If you want to get in out of the elements, the boat also has an indoor observation deck and a bistro.

Binocular rentals are available to better spot the whales in the Saguenay–St Lawrence Marine Park. Listen as your naturalist guide provides commentary on the surrounding ecosystem. Enjoy your provided box lunch when you get hungry.

At the end of your whale watch, head back to Montreal, stopping for dinner along the way.

The tour guide was great. The food was great. There were many whales to be seen, however I did not see any more than their fins and sometimes their tales when they dove. This boat does not take you very close to the whales. I would recommend this trip for your first time whale watching. It was a great experience and definitely worth the five hour drive!
