This tour is a custom tour and are not necessarily in the order below. Each guide has their own itinerary and have a specific place and time to be throughout the tour.  The 3 hour tour makes a stop at the famous John Ford’s Point where many of John Wayne’s western cinematic movies were film, and also the Transformers: Age of Extinction featuring Mark Wahlberg. Next, your guide will drive to The Backcountry of the park and escort you to the arches.  At “Sun’s Eye Arch” you will be standing at a specific degree to look up into the rock arch and see why it is named Sun’s Eye. At the same location you will also see Petroglyphs and hear your guide’s stories. You will also travel to the “Big Hogan.” The Big Hogan is a great place to take family pictures and lie against the rocks and feel its warmth. Your guide will provide stories and suggest great photo shots. In the Backcountry is the “Ear of the Wind.” This is the largest arch in the park, and your guide will escort you to a photogenic spot where you can take photographs. You will be guided to the Totem Pole and Yei Bi Cheii Monuments where you will be able to take photographs and hear the cultural stories behind each monument. Your guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel, then get ready for a scenic drive to Monument Valley in a comfortable all-terrain vehicle— allowing for exclusive access to parts of the park that are inaccessible to smaller cars. The area, located on a Navajo Reservation and considered a sacred healing region by Native American tribes, is tough to navigate on your own. But your guide will walk you through the history of the Navajo tribal park and the background of each stunning natural formation. With your choice of a sunrise or sunset tour, you’re bound for incredible, camera-ready views during the sun-kissed time of day known by photographers as the “Golden Hour.” The itineraries are fully customizable, so you’ll have your pick of some incredible spots, including iconic rock formations like John Ford’s Point, which served as film backdrop in many John Wayne Westerns. One of the most photographed formations is the Yei Bi Chei monuments, which resemble a line of tribal dancers. You’ll also get an opportunity to take pictures of the Big Hogan, a sandstone cave chamber, and Ear of the Wind, a mesmerizing, crimson-hued arch. At the North Window where you will have a chance to take pictures of the Mittens and Butte at different angles. Your tour guide will then slowly and safely transport you back to your departure point.

Sunrise Tour of Monument Valley was Amazing!
THERESA_S, Dec 2021
My friends and I purchased a Sunrise Tour of Monument Valley for the beginning of December 2021. We met Harry, our tour guide, who was very professional, kind, patient and informative. He helped us utilize our Phone cameras to take the most optimum photos. The tour was amazing-the sights are breathtaking that the pictures do not due them justice. Highly recommend booking this tour with Harry.
Best day ever with the best tour ever !
Cara_B, Nov 2021
Our guide, Steven was informative , young and so much fun . Being a Native American of Navajo descent made the experience much more meaningful; he not only knows the history but is connected to it . I loved hearing about his childhood and funny stories about growing up Native American . The sights are stunning and awe-inspiring . Hands down, the tour was the hi-light of my trip to Arizona . You could never see these monuments on your own unless you get up close and go down deep into the valley .
Steve is awesome!

A Colossal Disappointment
Cecil_P, Oct 2021
This tour is advertised as a way to see parts of Monument Valley that most visitors don't get to see. So we decided to bite the bullet and pay $95 each to take the tour. The truth is, the tour involves visiting parts of the valley that are of virtually no interest . We thought we would see those magnificent rock formations we're all familiar with from unusual angles and different vantage points that would allow us to get more interesting photographs. And that we would see other, similar formations that we're not so familiar with and be able to photograph them as well. What we discovered is that for the most part, we were shown big expanses of rock of almost no visual or photographic interest. Most visiors to Monument Valley explore it by driving a 17-mile loop that takes them past the more familiar sites and allows them to spend as much time at each one as they wish. The first part of our tour included a few of those sites, but instead of stopping to let us take the time to enjoy them, the guide drove past them so quickly that enjoyment and photography were impossible. Also, we had signed up for the sunset tour, which is supposed to include the opportunity to view the sun as it sets behind one of the valley's most scenic locations. But since the day had been cloudy, the guide skipped the sunset, even though the sun had come out by the time the tour ended, and instead raced back to the lodge as quickly as possible. Monument Valley is a beautiful place, and if you have any interest in visiting it, you should definitely do so. But skip the guided tour and drive the 17-mile loop. You'll enjoy it more, and save yourself

Totally Recommend this Tour!! A+
Ron_B, Oct 2021
My wife and I had a personal private experience with Harry on a sunrise 3 hour tour. He was fantastic. While checking his clock he made sure we were in the perfect position at every given moment for an experience of a lifetime that we will never forget. We got awsome photos. He gave us access through the reservation only a Navahoe could do, bringing us to a sacred shrine while playing the symbolic wooden Navahoe flute. We new we were in a special place. Totally recommend this Tour!! A+

Steven made the experience a memorable one. The sunrise did not cooperate, but the monuments did. He took the best picture of our group on John Fords point. Don’t miss this tour.
