What You Can Expect

Half-Day Cultural Tour of Moorea Including Opunohu Bay

Tour the island with a native of Moorea

This half-day adventure to the South Pacific island of Moorea begins with a morning hotel pickup, followed by a history lesson on the local culture. Enjoy stories passed down from generation to generation, dating back to the writings of the first sailors and missionaries to visit the island.

Moorea is one of the most scenic islands in French Polynesia. Known for its jagged volcanic mountains and sandy beaches, it seems to almost magically appear out of the ocean.

Discover how the island began nearly 250 years ago, following in the footsteps of its ancestors — warriors and heroes who left their mark in history. Travel to the mountain tops and temples and visit Cook’s Bay, the largest commune of Moorea.

Finally, visit scenic Opunohu Bay, a narrow strait that is home to a wide variety of orchards. Sample some of the jams and stop at a local juice factory for a tasting (Sunday excluded).

This 4-hour tour concludes with a hotel drop-off.
