Private Tour: Golden Ring Day Trip to Suzdal and Vladimir from Moscow

Vladimir and Suzdal Day Tour

Depart from your Moscow hotel in a luxury minibus destined for the enchanting collection of villages known as the Golden Ring. During the drive, receive an insightful introduction to the Russian region from your guide; hear tales of power, wealth and opulence before arriving at your first stop, the historical town of Vladimir.

On a guided walking tour, delve into the town’s rich history as you visit impressive monuments like the Assumption Cathedral, home to treasures like Rublyov’s The Last Judgement frescoes. Stroll over to the equally enchanting Cathedral of St Dmitry to admire the incredible stone carvings on its exterior walls, and then enjoy some relaxed free time before returning to your coach.

On arrival in Suzal, revitalize with a traditional Russian lunch (own expense) and then amble around the ramparts of Suzdal’s Kremlin while learning about the town’s heritage. Visit several of the town’s world-class museums to enrich your knowledge of Suzal’s past and present; browse exhibits in the Museum of Wooden Architecture and Peasant Life before exploring the Museum of Crystal Glass.

After thorough exploration, return to your private vehicle and relax during the journey to your Moscow hotel, where the tour concludes.

The guide speaks good English and is friendly. She even took us to a local restaurant for us to try out the local speciality foods and drinks.

Yuri, our driver, was punctual, professional, courteous and a pleasure to ride with. He stopped when we needed and he picked clean and up to date facilities. The vehicle was clean and comfortable.

The two tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. They both made our experience discovering these Golden Ring cities enjoyable.

We were not advised about the ongoing known road construction on the way to Vladimir that added one hour to the trip from Moscow. This resulted in our tour in Vladimir being limited to one hour. The tour did not include strolling around the town or seeing any monuments other than the Golden Gate.

In Suzdal we did not see the museum of crystal glass or learn about glass blowing, We only saw the exterior of one church in the open air museum of wooden architecture and peasant life. WE didn't see any Windmills, Barns, Houses, etc.

The city tours were too short, based on what was stated should be included in both tours.

Suzdal and Vladimir are a long drive from Moscow but the scenic route made us forget about the distance! The towns important from religious and political perspective are blessed with natural beauty and a charm which is heightened by the strikingly colourful onion domes - the highlight of the Byzantine architecture. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. She made sure we had an eventful day.

Sergey, our guide, did a fabulous job and it was a perfect addition to seeing Moscow and St. Petersburg to go back further in history to the 12th century!
