What You Can Expect

Munich WWII Combo: Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site and Third Reich Walking Tour

Visit Dachau Concentration Camp on your tour!

Begin your day with a tour guide meet and greet at München Hauptbahnhof, the main railway station in Munich. After boarding a train there, it’s approximately a 30-minute ride north to Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site.

Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour (5 Hours):
Arrive at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site, the first Nazi concentration camp in Germany during the Holocaust, which served as a model for the subsequently constructed camps. See the photographs, documents, reconstructed cell blocks, the crematorium and administration headquarters on a tour of both the camp and museum. Find out little-known facts and stories about the Nazis linked to this site, like Heinrich Himmler, the guard who founded the camp. Return to Munich via train, arriving at approximately 2:15pm. You will have a brief break before meeting up for your 3pm walking tour.

Munich Third Reich Walking Tour  (2.5 Hours):
After a short break, meet up with your group at a prearranged point in central Munich. During the 2.5-hour Munich Third Reich walking tour, learn about the rise and fall of Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany’s Third Reich while visiting many of that period's important locations.

Stroll around Munich Old Town to witness the historical sites associated with Nazi Germany. See the building where Hitler first joined the Nazi party, discover the former headquarters of the Gestapo, and visit the place where the Beer Hall Putsch, also known as the Munich Putsch, took place in 1923.

After 2.5 hours, the tour concludes at Königsplatz, near Munich Central Station.

My tour guide was absolutely amazing and provided a lot of information. He studied in World War II history in England and showed our group buildings and locations the Nazis inhabited. Afterward, a few of the group members and myself grabbed a few drinks at a vintage bar Hitler used to attend. It was very intriguing looking back at where Hitler used to sit.

The tour was pretty thorough. We consider ourselves fairly well educated about the concentration camps, but still learned some new things. This is not a light-hearted tour. Be prepared to be educated. The Germans are very direct about the what and how and why of what happened here. Incredibly educational.

This was an incredible tour done by the very knowledgeable guide Mr. Steve Whitehall. The quick train ride there and the entrance to the camp were smoothly done with our group. He presented the memorial site with incredible knowledge and respect for those who were here at the camp. We learned so much and wish we could spend more time learning. My wife and I have done many tours throughout the years and both firmly agree he is the best tour guide we have ever had anywhere in the world. Thank you for your knowledge and answering all of our questions.

Fantastic, German people have a honesty about their history which is really great they tell it how it is. This tour is confronting and reasuring because of this honesty.

The tour was great. Our guide, Dave was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. He offered many insights about Dachau and the surrounding areas. We saw many of the sights I had read about in Munich.

What a value this was! Both tours were incredible... and we had about 45 minutes in between tours to eat a quick sandwich/pretzel. Both tour guides were funny, passionate and extremely knowledgeable. The price couldn't be beat, as it also includes transport to and from Dachau. We appreciated our that our guide on the Third Reich Walking Tour gave us a little time to self-explore some locations as well as ample time to sit in between our walking! He knew all the great places to have a seat in Munich city center! :
