We were a little nervous traveling without our bus and hotel documents. However like clockwork the bus arrived on time and the driver had all of our information and complete itinerary - all in order. Clean, safe and reliable transportation.
Great trip and wonderful stops along the way. We would recommend this trip to all travelers young and old.
This was wonderful. It was a recorded tour which was fine. I would do this again with no reservations. Plenty of time in Rothenburg and the night watchman's tour was great. I could have stayed an extra day or may take a longer tour. No issues with the staff, no issues with the hotel. The hotel had free wifi and I was able to Skype with my Wife in the states and let her see was I was seeing live from just out side the hotel. I really look forward to doing this again and bring the Wife.
Value for money, nothing to worry about, all organised in a professional manner.
We had many expectations after reading the reviews prior to taking this trip and when we did it was just fantastic. We went in June prior to the European holiday season and the scenery was spectular. Our stay at Rottenberg was unforgettable, fantastic hotel and very courteous staff. The night watchman tour was brilliant. The coach we traveled on was very comfortable with plenty of stops at different towns for breaks and photo shots. Traveling with children was no problem. Thank you
Rothenburg is a fantastic little medieval town and the Night Watchman tour is a must. We could easily have stayed another day or two. There was a great little park at one end and from there you can see the whole valley and it was also a nice place to just sit and rest after shopping or hiking around the old town. I would definitely like to go down this again and maybe stay in another town or two along the way.
The tour was amazing! It allowed us to experience many small medieval-style towns across the path to Frankfurt. Augsburg, Nördlingen, Dinkelsbühl, each one more enchanting than the next. Rothenburg was an unbelievable experience. It felt like we'd spent a week there, because we didn't want to stop walking around inside the walls of the town. The Night Watchman's tour was so much fun too, it just made the whole experience more memorable. And to finish it all, the castle stop in Weikersheim was magical, also thanks to our great driver/guide. I would do it again many times !

This was a great tour. The Nightwatchman's Tour of the town was brilliant and very amusing. Wuld recommend to anyone. Rothenburg is a lovely town.
This was a wonderful tour that got us from Munich to Frankfurt but included priceless sightseeing on the Romantic Road - also Rothenburg should not be missed on a trip to Germany! It is a beautiful and amazingly well preserved medieval town! The Nightwatchman Tour is the best and not to be missed!
We loved the overnight stay in Rothenburg. It is a wonderful place to visit. The hotel was great. The night watchman's tour was super. I am only giving it 4 stars because it is not a private tour. It is a public bus that makes a couple of stops along the way. As well, when we were on the way to Frankfurt, the bus had to backtrack and pick up about 20 people from an outlet mall. This was in heavy traffic and construction added about 40 miles round trip to the journey. If we had known it was a public bus, we would most likely have made arrangements to go by train. When we got to the first pickup place, the coach was not there. We ended up walking about 20 blocks with suitcases to get to the central station. When it arrived, we were the only people on the tour.
I am giving this four stars for only one reason. The bus ride to Rothenburg from Munich was uncomfortable. It was very very warm inside the bus and seemed like very little air was circulating throughout the bus. The bus driver was not very friendly. However, the ride was beautiful and was a great way to see lots of the countryside and the romantic road. Once we arrived in Rothenburg we were totally excited. The Hotel was wonderful and the staff very friendly. The town itself is a must see. Totally incredible. The night watchman tour was superb, don't miss it. The day spent wandering the town was great. Good food, good beer, good shopping, good sightseeing, and very friendly people. On the bus ride to Frankfurt the driver was much more friendly and there was a guide as well. The bus itself was still warm. Maybe that is the standard for busses. I suggest you dress in layers so you can take off clothes to be comfortable. I would absolutely do this tour again
No doubt it is a very romantic. Well arranged connections at Rotherburg. Mainly doing your own tour. Neverthless, every passing town is interesting.
Rothenburg is an awesome little town to spend with a girlfriend en route to Frankfurt from Munich.
We loved the bus tour, however it was a bit hurried as we only had 20 minutes at three of our stops. The bus was comfy and the driver offered information along the way. The hotel where we stayed in Rothenburg was a very rustic 16th century and not as comfortable as we would have liked. The Night Watchman tour was a highlight of the trip.
I would have liked to have a guide for the duration of the whole trip and do the route more in detail, with more stops through the small towns, and the drive to be on country roads rather than on main ones. There was no stop in Wurzberg. I felt the bus trip itself was rushed a bit. Rothenburg is absolutely beautiful.
Rothenburg was well worth the visit. The coach trip was just a means of getting there. Nothing special.
Not as we expected. Bus was over 30 minutes late to pick us up- no explanation. Description said English speaking guide- so we envisioned this was a 'tour' but just the bus ride with audio scripts playing. The driver that picked us up was rude and did not communicate well. The only reason I will give it 3 stars is because the overnight stay in Rothenburg is amazing! Our taxi transfer and hotel went smoothly. I felt it was a good value for the price of the trip. The key is don't miss Rothenburg or the Night Watchmen's tour- great, great, great!
Rothenburg and the bed and breakfast overnight at Rothenburg were wonderful. The bus ride to Rothenburg was good. The bus ride to Frankfurt was not good. The driver was late; the ride was fast; the one promised stop was not done; and the other stop was quick and I almost got left behind just standing next to the bus! The driver on the last leg to Frankfurt did not count passengers before leaving and the stops were brief. Furthermore, I did not like it when the driver to Frankfurt was hitting on a female passenger in front of the passengers. So because of the low class actions of your driver, it was not a great ride.
When I boarded the bus in Munich they had lost/misplaced all of my vouchers for my stay in Rothenburg (taxi token, hotel ticket etc). They eventually found out my documents were in Frankfurt but it caused a great deal of confusion. For that I am giving this tour only 2 stars. Besides the misunderstanding, the scenery was very beautiful and I got an authentic taste of what Bavaria has to offer. I would recommend taking this bus straight from Munich to Frankfurt without staying the night in Rothenburg as the bus stops in Augsburg, Nordlingen, Dinkelsbuhl, Rothenburg and Wurzburg giving you enough time to take pictures at each place. Rothenburg is very picturesque but you only need about 1-2 hours before realizing you've seen almost everything in the city.
We had no idea how this overnight trip was organized. To our surprise when we boarded the bus we were handed vouchers for taxi, hotel etc. There was no guide, no one to help us with questions. This was an English tour but the bus driver did not speak English. Only the very poor quality tapes he played when passing a village were in English.
The sites were amazing and the accomodation at the Golden Rose were far above expectation = thnak you. However the second day on the bus to Frankfurt was horrible. He made stops at places we did not know we would be stopping at ie. a Thimble museum. The 3 of us on the bus wanted to just continue to Frankfurt but we could not. Then we stopped at a Mall - the driver bought his wife running shoes while the 3 of us waited by the bus and we had no interest in a shopping mall. We were to be in Frankfurt at 8pm but very snickily he slowly let us know that he was now asked to become the express bus from the Mall to Frankfurt. This meant we had to wait for many people. When the Romantic road tour continued the "mall shoppers" were very confused with the english messages on points of interest. This made us terribly late, so if you have connections to make I would not count on it with this tour company. This was by far the worst part of our 18 day Europe trip. Stay away from this tour company.
Not enough quality time spent at the Castle. Lunch was very ordinary.
We were disappointed in the amount of time actually on the Romantic Road - probably like 25% only. We thought we were going through Wuzurburg and ended up at shopping mall - Wertheim Village wainting 20 minutes to pick up passages and then went straight to Frankfurt. We do not believe we received what we had been sold and paid for.
The experiences on the tour attractions/locations etc0 were really good however the local operator was totally inadequate. We never did receive any vouchers/tickets in fact no paperwork at all. When we arrived to get the coach the driver had no record of us at all. Eventaully we had him agree to call the office and he was told we were joining his coach and that our tickets/vouchers would arrive at the first stop. NOTHING was ever given us. We had no vouchers for the coach or any accommodation. Extremely badly organised. Others on the coach had very similar experiences.

This tour was a disaster. Bus driver did not have our documents, they were sent to Frankfurt. He was extremely rude, was not concerned about leaving us stranded in Munich.
Bus was delayed first day due to mechanical problems. Did not stop at Donauworth, Nordlingen and Dinkelsbuhl.
Bus was late second day again, Did not arrive until 18:00 (scheduled at 16:30).
Hotel at Rothenburg was lower than expectations.
We left Munich on August 23rd. The bus driver was disrespectful, not answering our questions, not giving us the appropriate pamphlet when asked. When we started our tour, the bus lurched into reverse before I was seated and I fell. We took the train from Rothenburg to Frankfurt as a result of our experience.
The accommodation was basic and austere. They did not provide soap or shampoo.
