This was one of the best tours I and #39;ve ever taken! Our guide, Luka, is very personable and knowledge about the sites we visited. We did so many things in one day that made the trip worthwhile. I would recommend this tour to everyone!

Absolutely brilliant! Our guide, Shinji, was exceptionally knowledgeable not just about the snow monkeys but Nagano in general. His English is superb, and his recommendations about other places in Japan to visit were spot on. The snow monkey park itself is great, and that's coming from someone visiting in the autumn. In winter it will no doubt be better.
Small group and very personal. Our tour guide was a young guy from the Netherlands, now living in Japan Shark ?. He was extremely knowledgeable and made our trip very pleasant. Negano was the highlight of our Japan tour. Thank you.
We were pleased to see the snow monkeys even though there was no snow. We spent over an hour at the monkey park. We saw the monkeys with their babies. Got some nice pictures. Our guide Sjaark was very patient when I stopped to take pictures. We also enjoyed going to the Zenkoji-Jo Temple and the explanations of the customs at the temple. We would recommend this tour.
This was great tour, although I never made it up to the snow monkeys due to a sore knee
Our tour guide Akimi not sure of speeling was fantastic and very helpful, even helped me with carrying my bag at the temple
Very good day full of interesting information. Jacques was an excellent guide.
Wow one of the best tours we and #39;ve done our guide Shinji was outstanding and very accommodating. The tour was well organised with enough time at each stop lunch was also delicious surprising as we have found the food a big of a challenge. I couldn and #39;t rate this tour highly enough .The snow monkeys see
This ended up being a private tour as we were the only ones there! And it was brilliant. Our young guide spoke perfect English, and was so knowledgeable. Provided loads of interesting facts and information during Temple visit and our Japanese lunch was extremely tasty. The highlight of course was the Snow Monkeys themselves, and what an experience it was. There wasn't any snow but plenty of monkeys running about, jumping in the spring, climbing up, over and under the bridge, scrambling up and down the surrounding hills. A 100 must do.
We highly recommend this tour, Sjaak was a brilliant guide and seeing the snow monkeys was worth every penny!
This was a great family-oriented tour. We were impressed by the guide's knowledge and we enjoyed all of the activities.
Wonderful guide! We had a great time. Beware, its a bit of a walk to the monkeys and a bit rough in the snow. Little worrisome with four kids but worth the hike!
This is a highlight of short stay in Japan. David was a terrific guide, knowledgeable, and friendly!
The Temple was amazing and snow monkey park was awsome, could of spent the whole day there just watching them. Our tour guide David was great.
No monkeys but tour guides were Great. Offers us options since Monkeys were not around
No doubt! This tour is worth the money. The visit to the impresive Zenko-ji temple is a perfekt start of the day and a great opportunity to learn more about this important place of worship.
Don't miss the tunnel...
Facing the cute Snow Monkey-babies is just great. Don't miss the tranquility of the older monkeys taking a bath in the pond or simply just hanging around doing nothing -

Our tour guide, Tomoko, was excellent! She spoke fluent English, was prompt meeting us at Nagano Station, and answered any questions we had. We met a gentleman who was our guide at Zenko-ji Temple. He was very thorough and was extremely knowledgeable. We paid 500 yen per person to find the key to paradise which was in a completely dark room under the main floor of the temple. Our very favorite part of the tour was the Jigokudani Monkey Park. You can get amazingly close to the monkeys! Because we visited in August, we were able to see the many baby monkeys. We were told that babies are born in April or May. This year there was a rare white baby monkey which we got to see. Because we had a very small group, we were able to stop by a hot springs foot bath before our train back to Nagano. This tour is so worth the price--all transportation bus to Zenko-ji, train to the mountain, van pick up from train station to the cafe for lunch, van back to train station, and train ride back to Nagano, entrance fees Zenko-ji and Monkey Park, a huge lunch large bowl of ramen, drink, and side dish or dessert, and a bottled water for our trip home...ALL included! Everyone we met on this tour was so friendly! I would take this tour again!
Very well planned tour, our guide was very knowledgable of the history of Zenko-Ji Temple. The lunch was very delicious and the snow monkeys were very cute! Would love to do this tour in winter when they are actually batheing in the hot springs!
Our guide David was fantastic and so knowledgeable. The monkey park entrance is actually really cheap, so you can do this without a tour. Please note it doesn't include transfers so it can be a very expensive day if you take the Shinkansen! Lunch was great and tour of the temple was also great with a lovely guide. If you are going in winter, you will need to take your shoes off, double up on the socks!
