What You Can Expect

Napa Valley Wine Trolley and Castle Tour

Napa Valley Wine Trolley and Castle Tour

After pickup from your designated meeting point in Yountville, your Napa Valley Wine Trolley tour takes you north on Highway 29, the scenic St Helena Highway. Make yourself comfortable in the open-air motorized trolley, and listen to commentary from your guide as you enjoy the fresh air and vineyard views during the drive up to the St Helena and Calistoga areas. After about 30 minutes, you’ll reach your first of three wineries, Castello di Amorosa.

Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the winery, including the medieval-style Tuscan castle, and then enjoy a wine tasting of varietals like pinot noir, sangiovese or award-winning chardonnay. (Note: This tasting ONLY is included.)

Next head to Cairdean Estate, a boutique family-owned winery, where you will sip your wine in the middle of a vineyard. Enjoy lunch catered by Oakville Grocery, a historic gourmet shop that dates back to 1881. Lunch items vary by day, but you can expect fresh dishes like salads and sandwiches made with farm-to-table ingredients, accompanied by soda and water.

After a delicious wine tasting and lunch, hop back on the trolley for winery number three: historic Beringer Vineyards. Here you will enjoy a progressive tasting and tour around the iconic Napa Valley facility. Stroll back through time as you walk through the beautiful grounds, learning about the winery’s past and present from a knowledgeable Beringer Vineyard's guide.

Your tour ends with the trolley ride back to Yountville.

Overall this was a great way to get intimate with a few great wineries. The tour and guide at Chateau de Amorosa while great, left little time to explore the grounds and take photos. Was an amusing, informative and well spent day.

It was a very great experience. I would love the give it five stars as the driver was incredible, corteous, and put some fun during the tour. The only setback was in the stop we made for lunch where the attention lacked some basic courtesy and made us felt like if they were giving us some kind of charity. Apart from that, everything was extraordinary.

Very nice tour. James the driver was a very good host and a lot of fun. James provided a ton of information while driving. Castle was the highlight. Lunch was sandwiches and sides, and was very good. You don't have to pay for tasting at the Castle, but tasting at the next two wineries was 20-25, so be prepared

This was the best way to visit and learn about Napa. The castle tour was very good! Joe was our driver and was very informative and kept us entertained. While we had every intention of tipping him and did, toward the end of the tour his continual reminders were a turn off

Great tour guide and wonderful small wineries besides the castle made for a relaxing day. Lunch was great and I would highly recommend it.

The Trolley tour was wonderful except maybe they should cut it short to the castle and lunch. Wine tasting was more than sufficient at the castle and I think it was a bit short. The lunch provided was very tasteful and abundant. The rest of the tour was tiresome and redundant. No other wine tasting establishment could compare to the castle.

The castle is worth this trip, but I wonder if this tour is the right one. The trolley was not operational even though it was the day before as we saw it on the road, so as the policy stated the company does replace it with a beautiful air-conditioned bus. The tour guide was truly trying to be helpful, but it was clear that he did not know many details as he was describing the vineyards along the route to our destinations. I was also very dissatisfied with the fact that you do not know which vineyards you are traveling to outside of the castle. This resulted in my family visiting the same winery that we did the day before. Disappointing when there are 500 vineyards in Napa. Please address this for future customers.
