Tour was great! Leif, the driver, was knowledgeable and personable.....Winery's were accomodating and interesting. Would have rather spent time at another smaller winery then the Beringer winery....Overall it was a great day, even with the rain!!!
The castle even though it isn't 250 years old it was amazing and the wines very good. The driver James of the trolley was very cordial and informative. Over all experience excellent
The Castle is something you have to see and experience.....describing it doesn't do it justice. It's a fantastic place.
Overall, the ride on the trolley was a lot of fun......it was a beautiful day!
Wonderful full day tour of the Napa Valley. Our guide Joe was very entertaining and informative. We had a great time!
This was our introduction to Wine Country. It was fantastic. Joe, our tour guide, was very entertaining and informative. The Castle is a must-see. Clairdeen is okay. Beringer was beautiful and good wine.
Would certainly recommend this tour. The atmosphere on the trolley was fun.
This was a great way to visit wineries. We met some really fun people and had some really good wine.
Joe our Trolley driver and guide was awesome! We totally recommend this tour.
We were picked up on time, our guide was knowledgeable and fun. Learned a lot and drank some fantastic wine.
The trolley tour was so much fun! Our driver/tour guide Gy was entertaining, knowledgeable and fun!! The castle tour and tasting was our favorite part and the food was delish! thank you for a great time!! cheers!
Overall this was a great way to get intimate with a few great wineries. The tour and guide at Chateau de Amorosa while great, left little time to explore the grounds and take photos. Was an amusing, informative and well spent day.
It was a very great experience. I would love the give it five stars as the driver was incredible, corteous, and put some fun during the tour. The only setback was in the stop we made for lunch where the attention lacked some basic courtesy and made us felt like if they were giving us some kind of charity. Apart from that, everything was extraordinary.
Very nice tour. James the driver was a very good host and a lot of fun. James provided a ton of information while driving. Castle was the highlight. Lunch was sandwiches and sides, and was very good. You don't have to pay for tasting at the Castle, but tasting at the next two wineries was 20-25, so be prepared
This was the best way to visit and learn about Napa. The castle tour was very good! Joe was our driver and was very informative and kept us entertained. While we had every intention of tipping him and did, toward the end of the tour his continual reminders were a turn off
Great tour guide and wonderful small wineries besides the castle made for a relaxing day. Lunch was great and I would highly recommend it.
The Trolley tour was wonderful except maybe they should cut it short to the castle and lunch. Wine tasting was more than sufficient at the castle and I think it was a bit short. The lunch provided was very tasteful and abundant. The rest of the tour was tiresome and redundant. No other wine tasting establishment could compare to the castle.
Be careful when you book this trip as it DOES NOT go out of San Francisco ! We had to rent a car to get to Yountville, a very quaint little town that I would plan to go back to, about an hour outside of San Fran. We did not get to ride the trolley due to rain but a very nice van was substituted. Guy, our driver was lovely! The Castello di Amorosa was EXCELLENT as was the tour. The price of wine for the castle was included BUT NOT for the other wineries. The Castle wine was EXCELLENT and I spent most of my allowance there. I could have spent longer at the castle. The next stop was a waste of time, the wine wasn't so great. Lunch was provided inside due to rain, no ambiance just put up tables. There were 30 people and 30 sandwiches. If you were last on the list you had no choice. The sandwiches were hardly gourmet. I would rather have skipped this winery and stopped at a nice lunch place with some choices. It was 20 each to takes 4 wines., price not included in tour price. Beringer Vineyards were lovely, however the tour quoted Stroll back through time as you walk through the beautiful grounds, learning about the winerys past and present from a knowledgeable Beringer Vineyard's guide. They did not mention this tour was an additional 30.00 for 30 mins. Neither the cost of the tour NOR the wine tasting was included...25.00 each. We did not do the tour but were left to wonder around on our own, I felt mislead by the description as they made it sound as if this guided tour was included. We were a party of three so you can imagine if you paid for all the extras the cost goes up SIGNIFICANTLY !
I think I would have been just as happy to rent a car from San Fran and pay for the castle tour independently , followed by a nice lunch in one of the many quaint stops along the way:
The castle is worth this trip, but I wonder if this tour is the right one. The trolley was not operational even though it was the day before as we saw it on the road, so as the policy stated the company does replace it with a beautiful air-conditioned bus. The tour guide was truly trying to be helpful, but it was clear that he did not know many details as he was describing the vineyards along the route to our destinations. I was also very dissatisfied with the fact that you do not know which vineyards you are traveling to outside of the castle. This resulted in my family visiting the same winery that we did the day before. Disappointing when there are 500 vineyards in Napa. Please address this for future customers.
I loved the Trolley car and host. He was on time and very informative. He was really a great host and very courteous. I also loved the Castle tour and host Gary he was excellent and very generous with his time and tastings. I enjoyed the lunch very much and the nice patio area at Franciscan Estate. The tastings were okay and host not the greatest, but not bad. I really did not like the last stop at Provenance Vineyards Winery. I was expecting more since it was a small winery. The tastings were the worst off all barely 1 sip and did not like the wine. Could not order other wines. Very expensive for what you got at this winery. 20.00 per person and did not even get an equivalent of 1 glass of wine. I was also disappointed that Viator what you can expect included Cairdean Estate and Beringer Vineyards which we did not go to.
Initially had issues where the trolley passed us up at one of the pick-up points. However, was resolved by having a private car come pick us up to meet up with the trolley at stop 1. The castle tour was amazing with the tasting included in the price but would have liked to have known ahead of time the other wineries we were scheduled to stop at since we did not find the tasting prices to be worth their cost 20 at one and 25 at the other.
Would not use this tour again- the actual tour was only at the castle -the visits to the two other wineries were only accesses if we paid an extra 20.00 dollars -the tour would have done better to find a wineries available that allowed tastings for no charge -I felt cheated!
