Discover the rich history and culinary delights of Sonoma Plaza on this 3-hour tour. Make your way to this National Historic Landmark in downtown Sonoma to meet your local foodie guide. Set off on a leisurely walking tour around the square, which offers a mix of historic charm and top-notch shopping and dining. Your guide will share intriguing stories from the town’s past as a Spanish mission as you stroll by historic landmarks like the Mission San Francisco Solano, the Toscano Hotel and the Sonoma Barracks.
This is the only wine country food tour to stop at the highly rated bistro The Girl & the Fig, where you can sample French-inspired country cuisine and browse a bevy of fig-infused products at the gift shop. Stop at a few wine shops for a taste of signature regional varietals like chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon and pinot noir produced by local boutique wineries.
Get a dose of artisan dairy at the Sonoma Cheese Factory with samples of uniquely flavored cheeses from local creameries. Visit other eateries around the square at the discretion of your guide, such as B&V Whiskey Bar & Grille, El Dorado Kitchen, La Bodega and Envolve Winery. You’ll find many opportunities to purchase unique edible gifts to share with friends and family — or devour when you get home.
For a sweet finish, settle into a private table in an atmospheric cellar and savor cocoa-based treats from the Chocolate Cow or Wine Country Chocolates, paired with wine.

Renee provided an amazing experience. The 30 minute history tour around the square was an unexpected treat (especially for my husband), the food and wine pairing were great (definitely enough to be considered a meal), the group was small and friendly. A must do in Sonoma!

This tour was so much fun! Renee does a great job selecting interesting restaurants to sample along with extras like a magnificent olive oil store and chocolate store. All restaurants were delicious! We would have loved to have more time to hear about the history of the Plaza - that would have made the tour even more meaningful.

Arleen was amazing!!! We had such a great afternoon learning about the history of wine country mixed with fine wines and perfect food pairings at some of the best restaurants in Sonoma!
My daughters and myself felt like Arleen was a friend by the end of the tour!
I will highly recommend this !!

This was a fun tour and Viv was so full of life and information. Be aware this is more a tapa tasting and not a food tasting. We have been on other food tours and you were stuffed. However, they started at 11:30 and this begins at 2. It is done at 5 so you need to plan a dinner reservation!! We didn't plan that! The wine pairings were ok with meals. Walking around Sonoma plaza was so fun and so much history. A nice retreat from just wine tasting.

Very fun! Rene is wonderful to chat with and very friendly! Loved all the food! Wish we had more time at the oil and balsamic store! : Best truffle fries ever at BV Whiskey Bar! Seems a bit high-priced for this type of tour...but it is California, where everything is more expensive! :
