What You Can Expect

Marco Island Kayak Tour with Optional Beach Landing

Kayak Tour

Kayak Tour (2.5 hours)Meet your guide, a local naturalist, and the rest of the group (there will be no more than eight participants) at the departure point. Then head over to the launch point on March Island, which will be based on local daily weather conditions. After arriving hop in your double kayak (single kayaks are only used when there is an odd number of participants) and take off on the water, floating through the mangrove tunnels and keeping your eyes open for wildlife.
Your guide will help you spot birds like ospreys, eagles and herons, as well as marine animals like dolphins, turtles and maybe even manatees! Your guide may take you to the Rookery Bay Preserver, a favorite part of the tour. Paddle among the 110,000 acres of enchanting mangrove forests and through protective waters, keeping an eye out for some of the 150 bird species and other wildlife and sea life that flourish in the area. Or if you’re a bird lover, visit the bird rookeries, where birds thrive and fly and chirp. Once back on the shore, return to the starting point.

Great tour guide, and we my daughters and I had a very nice tour of the mangroves. Our guide was very knowledgeable on the science of the area. Thanks Craig N Ft Myers, FL.

Several of our fellow travelers were late or missing so the experienced guide sent us out with the junior guide while we awaited the stragglers. Kara was friendly and knowledgeable but had very niche knowledge points botany which made the tour a little less well rounded.
