Visiting Pompeii deserves a good guide. There is so much to know about ancient Roman cities, their way of life, etc., beyond just the disaster that fell upon Pompeii, and this turned out to be the best part of the tour. It is fascinating. A lunch is served on this tour - pizza Neapolitan - that was the best pizza I had in Italy. And that is saying a lot. Unfortunately, we were not able to get to the top of Vesuvius as we hit a fog bank but it could not be helped.

Amazing day with the tour! What a wonderful time and awesome experience to enjoy both Pompeii but hike Mt. Vesuvius! Beautiful day with my family and surprisingly our 4 year old hiked the entire thing!
Well organised and tour guides personable and professional. Pompeii was extremely busy and Vesuvius was a small hike but worth the effort. Highly reccommend.
Would highly recommend this! If it and #39;s your first time, don and #39;t do DIY and book this tour. We were so happy that we did. We learned so much, saw so much and we still talk ascot this tour now (four months later). The guide was amazing and really kept us laughing too! Don and #39;t hesitate to book!
Absolutely fantastic tour - amazing that we packed so much in one day! Our Pompeii guide was brilliant really brought it all to life. We were so well looked after from the pick up from Napoli train station to the drop off at the end of the day. The Vesuvius climb was quite a challenge, but borrowing a stick was a great help. The view was incredible, and to be able to look down into the crater was mind-blowing - and it was still smoking in places! Exciting, thank you so much :
very good guide, very interesting place to see. wish we had more time there
Excellent experience! Everything was well organized and the time spent on each place was the ideal.
An excellent tour well worth the money. Lucia from naples was a fantastic guide very knowledgeable and very entertaining!
Can and #39;t fault this. Arrangements worked perfectly. Tour guide we had at Pompei was fab. Despite having done it for 25 years she was obviously extremely knowledgeable, but still enthusiastic.
Actual tour guide was very sensitive to the fact that 16 of us were on cruise ships so had to be back on time.
Very well organised. Saved all the hassle of arranging your own transfers and transport. Best by far though was the guides. Great, interesting, feisty and enthusiastic guides
Pompeii and Vesuvius well worth it, would recommend and have to all.
Pompeii guided tour a must Lucianna our tour guide all the history and story makes what you see come to life.
Mt Vesuvius a bit of a hike to the top, easy enough just pace your self.
There are places to stop on the way and enjoy the views whilst having a rest.
I grabbed a hiking stick from the vendor whom only asks for a donation on your return.
Have a glass of red at the top with your friends as a reward for your effort.
You wont be disappointed!
Tour was enjoyable, but not for those who do not enjoy large crowds of people.
Well, I can't talk enough about tour. It was very well arranged. The tour guide for Pompeii could have been better with language English
A great trip taking in both Pompeii and Vesuvius in one day. The pick up arrangements were very well organised with good communications from the outset.
Our guide for Pompeii was friendly and informative showing us the highlights of this huge site in the two hours that we had there. A really good lunch was included at a restaurant near to Pompeii from where we were driven by coach to Vesuvius. We were dropped at the parking area about a mile from the crater and from there we continued on foot. Some of our group waited at the cafe as the climb is rather steep. We were very lucky to have clear skies and fantastic views across the Bay of Naples.... well worth the effort.
I would highly recommend this tour.
The trip to Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius was amazing. Very interesting. Would have liked more time to walk up Mt Vesuvius - it was a bit of a rush. However, it was the highlight of our trip to Rome/Naples.
Great way to see both spots in one day. The guide for Pompei was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. Mt. Vesuvius is a steep hike up, but well worth it. The weather at the top can be very different from the base, so be prepared with layers. Lunch was good and not at all rushed.

Great tour. Well organised, and our tour guides were great! The walk up Vesuvius isn't that bad or difficult. But can be a little tiring if the weather is hot! Good shoes are a must!
Our tour was done in reverse, Vesuvius then Pompeii. Even if you're out of shape, you can walk to the rim of the volcano. The drive up was long along narrow streets in a bus. The walk to the top, and all the way to the far end of the rim, was simple and pleasant. There is even a place to grab some water or wine I opted for the wine, hey, it's vacation. On the way up the mountain the tour guide will tell you history of Mt Vesuvius. Before the tour started in Pompeii they fed us lunch, pizza and a drink. This was actually the best pizza we had in Italy. You can do Pompeii on your own, but a tour guide REALLY makes the trip more enjoyable unless you are a history buff and wish to discover things on your own. We were picked up and dropped off near our hotel in Naples so that made it a real convenience. Definitely worth the money and time.
