Pompeii Small Group tour w/an Archaeologist/Skip the line | Mar 2020
My wife and I really enjoyed the tour of Pompeii guided by John Marco. He went into the history and the present of Pompeii as archeologists continue to reveal the fallen city. His expertise in archeology was what we found intriguing and enlightening to what Pompeii once was.

Glad We Chose this Tour

Pompeii Small Group tour w/an Archaeologist/Skip the line | Feb 2020
While I normally don't go for guided tours, fears of long lines gave me the impetus to invest in this one, and I'm glad I did. As it turns out, the lines in mid-February aren't all that long, but our guide Anna really brought to life all the little details and context that you would probably miss on a self guided tour. As an licensed architect, she was able to explain archeological techniques of past and current archeological activities in the area. I absolutely would recommend to anyone visiting Pompeii for the first time doing this tour. We hit all the high points without overdoing it and I felt as if I had a much better understanding of the site, and Roman life by the end of our tour.

Herculaneum Small Group tour with an Archaeologist - Skip the line | Feb 2020
Herculaneum itself is a highly recommended site to visit. It is much smaller than Pompeii but in a way it looks more preserved and because of it's size, it is much more manageable. Our archaeologist guide, Daniella was wonderful. She gave us a lot of interesting information about the site. Since it was a small tour, each one of us had a lot of opportunity to ask her some questions. We've gained so much knowledge about the site and that made this tour so interesting for us. It is definitely worth paying for an archaeologist guide like Daniella.

We enjoyed the tour very much. The Guide being an archaeologist was very knowledgeable. I did a tour of Pompeii 5 years ago and learnt even more this time round with this tour. It also went over time by about 30mins but we didn't mind as you felt we got more value.

Pompeii Small Group tour w/an Archaeologist/Skip the line | Jan 2020
This was such a great tour and just fascinating our guide was so knowledgeable on all the history of Pompei, highly recommended otherwise you would not know what you are looking at. If you do this you will not need the guide for Herculaneum as you will then know what you are looking for. January was a great time to go as you are not walking around in intense heat or fighting the crowds, because of this we got to see so much more.

Pompeii Small Group tour w/an Archaeologist/Skip the line | Jan 2020
Our guide, a Pompeii archeologist, was indeed a professional; very knowledgeable in the development, destruction, and excavation of Pompeii. He also shared very interesting insights about everyday life in Pompeii. My 8-year old son and I enjoyed this tour very much. Our guide was very considerate. He spoke clearly, answered questions, and ensured the pace was appropriate. Thank you for a great day!

Pompeii & Ercolano (Herculaneum) Tour

Pompeii and Herculaneum Shared Small Group tour with an Archaeologist | Jan 2020
My wife and I went on this tour as part of our honeymoon, and we are very glad we did. It was very helpful to have a real archaeologist who works on site conducting the tour, as the knowledge and insight we gained were powerful. Pompeii was very impressive, and Herculaneum was well worth the additional visit, as the remains are much better preserved. The skeletons found at Herculaneum (the last stop of the tour) are a remarkable (yet horrifying!) way to conclude the visit. The only issue we had was catching everything being shared, as there are no headsets. For this reason, you have to really make an effort to keep up and stay close to the guide. There was a bit of difficulty understanding the English at times, as our guide was a native Italian speaker (obviously). But we got better at understanding him as the visit progressed. Great tour!
