Make your way to the Ryman Auditorium, where you can redeem your voucher for admission on a self-guided tour. The first stop on the tour is the “Soul of Nashville,” a state-of-the-art theater experience that uses special effects, holograms, and archival footage to introduce the Ryman Auditorium’s 125-year history, with plenty of country stars along the way, including Darius Rucker, Sheryl Crow, The Fisk Jubilee Singers, and Vince Gill.
Following the presentation, continue through the Ryman Auditorium’s exhibits; short films are hosted by Emmylou Harris, Marty Stuart, Nicole Kidman, Ricky Skaggs, Robin Roberts, and Trisha Yearwood. The exhibits cover everything from the early days of country music performance to contemporary stars: visit Workin’ on a Building, Showplace of the South, Mother Church of Country Music, Inspired: 125 Years of Performance, and Ryman Renaissance.
This self-guided tour is available from 9am to 4pm.

Lots of history and interesting facts about the building. Worth the price of admission. The movie shown, prior to the walking tour, was really cool.

We booked through Viator - and the voucher for the tour worked fine. We got there at 3 pm although we booked for 9 am - which was no issue. We are not big country fans which made us feel a bit of a fraud - as everyone else seemed well into the country scene. Nevertheless it was an interesting tour and we got headsets and got a narrated tour. We had gone to the new Opry House in the morning on the same day and the contrast between old and new was fascinating.

This could have been fantastic if it had an audio tour with it, but unfortunately not. The initial film sets ups the experience well, but then the rest of the experience was a little disappointing. It was great to sit in the seats of the auditorium and imagine everyone who had played there, but the rest of the tour, was just a few exhibits with short descriptions.

One of the best tours we had in Tennessee! Such a historical place to visit and I can understand how important as an artist it is to be allowed to perform there.

This was a self-guided tour and well worth your time. We were lucky enough to catch a band warming up on the stage. Also great photo ops!!

For the die hard Country Music fan, this is a must see. It is where the GOO began. The building has numerous pictures and some displays from artists and founding members. It's a good place to begin a tour of the Nashville area since it gives a lot of background and history.
