Race against time to hunt for clues and complete challenges — and get to know Nassau while you’re at it — on this 1.5-hour scavenger hunt. Separate into teams and set off to explore the Bahamian capital armed with a marked map. Visit some of the city’s best-loved spots, including Parliament Square and the Queen’s Staircase, while collecting points and learning about the city’s art, culture and history. The team who collects the most points in the least amount of time wins. Ready, set, go!
  • 90-minute scavenger-hunt adventure in Nassau
  • Discover with a small team the city’s popular sights, including churches, galleries, monuments and shops
  • Roam the streets of Nassau using a map with 40 designated points of interest, like Queen's Staircase and Balcony House
  • Pay attention to the rules and accrue points by answering a question or completing a challenge at each site
  • Learn about Bahamian history and culture in a lively and entertaining way
  • Choose between a morning or afternoon scavenger hunt
  • Winning team collects fun prizes
Make your way to Rawson Square in downtown Nassau roughly 15 minutes before your scheduled start time. After you’ve registered with the race director, you’ll be divided into teams of three to six people and receive a map marked with 40 points of interest. See the Itinerary for a sample list of places marked on the map.

Get a full briefing from the race director on the rules of the scavenger hunt, and then come up with an awesome team name to intimidate your competitors. You’ll also want to make sure at least one member of your team has a digital camera or camera-ready smartphone.

Once all teams are ready and you’ve been given the green light, set off to begin the hunt. You have 1.5 hours to visit as many of the sites on the map as possible. The order in which you hit the sites isn’t important, but your team must stay together throughout and you must answer a question or complete a challenge at each site to acquire points.

The scavenger hunt finishes at Pompey Square, where all of the teams’ score are tallied. If your team has secured the most points and followed the rules along the way, you’ll nab the prize. But if you break the rules, another team will swoop in and claim the prize.

The rules include:
  • Don’t leave the starting location until you’ve received instruction from the race director
  • Teams arriving more than 15 minutes late to the hunt forfeit their right to the prize
  • Obey all traffic laws and do not commit any crimes to complete the challenges (remember, it’s just a game)
  • Teams that arrive after the 1.5-hour time period concludes receive a 5-point deduction for every minute late

This was a fun, easy way to wander around the city and get a taste of Nassau. Would recommend to those who don't know what to do and don't want to go to Atlantis. Tour operator was friendly and helped us get on our way. Great tour!

t' was fun. My Sister-in-law absolutely loved it- and she's very low keyed. The location Map was helpful - but finding particular businesses when they had name changes made it more challenging. You go away knowing more of local life knowledge a bit more of the local history. You get a good feeling of the helpful friendly people who know you're lost and kindly give directions to your next find. You begin to notice the schoolkids and adults waiting for the bus on the side streets, a photo history of the Bacardi Bat -if you find the factory and even if you do not complete the entire tour you notice less obvious things. You may even become an accomplished direction giver to confused tourists yourself. And by the way - there was a reward for the best team. Ms O was Scavenger Hunt was very enjoyable and so was her Rum and Food tour a few days prior 5 stars.

Though only two of us showed up and the temp and humidity were awful, we managed to find and answer 17 location questions in 2 hours. Tour guide was great meeting us at the end with treats and water. Loved the questions. On a cooler day, we would have absolutely loved this hunt!

This was such a great way to see Nassau! After a mostly disappointing cruise to get us there, this was definitely a highlight of our trip! And we won! It was a little tricky to find the starting point and make sure we were in the right place, but once we got started it was so fun! Wear good shoes and bring a ton of water! I would do something like this everywhere I go to quickly learn and see so much of a place!

We had a great time on our scavenger hunt. We broke up into teams of three-girls vs. guys-and were off. Our tour guide did a nice job explaining things, and had excellent maps, but everything on the tour is basically on your own. You have 15 minutes to plan out which sights you will search for on the map. Every place has a different point value based on difficulty to find and/or distance from the starting place. Make sure you have your walking shoes. Our groups were very competitive with the girls winning. They even had a nice prize pack for the winner--a locally distilled vodka and box of chocolates. Unique tour for a budget price. Would do again as we didn't hit every spot on our map!

Very fun and cheap activity but you must be 'IN SHAPE as you race sometimes uphill to compete with several other teams of 6 to win the prize. You get 90 minutes to hit 40 destinations and gather proof that you went to each destination. Excellent, fun, and safe way to see some interesting sights, museums, art galleries, hotels, and shops without being very far from the ship. After the scavenger hunt, you can go back and re-visit some of the places you didn't even know existed in downtown Nassau. Highly recommended!

This was the most fun I've ever had in Nassau.

We loved this excursion. It was a fun and competitive way to see the sights of the city. We had 6 of us that split into 3 groups of 2 in each group and us old people won the whole thing! It helps to have map reading skills that us old people have and not rely on Siri all the time : Our guide was delightful and gave very good instructions and a great prize at the end. I would definitely recommend.

What a great experience! We were a group of ten, ranging in age from seven to fifty something, who came in on a Royal Caribbean Cruise. We had just had our beach day at Royals private island and we were looking for something a little more adventurous, and a little less expensive, than hanging at Atlantis for the day. Also, I really like to get the flavor of the places I visit, and being in a resort didnt really accomplish that. We were a little concerned about our safety as we were not familiar with the area and were travelling with kids, but Islandz Tours was very helpful and reassuring with our questions they also caught that we booked half of our group for the wrong day, thank you!. Our tour guide, Joelle, was fun and helpful and kept us in line. You have to be somewhat physically fit enough to navigate hills, steps and about five to six miles of walking/running adventure. We learned so much about Nassau in ninety minutes! Some of the higher points gave us breathtaking views of our ships and the harbor. The locals were very helpful whenever we asked questions. Some of the sites required taking a picture or completing a task, which the kids really got into. In the end, my group lost to the other group due in part to not understanding that some questions were worth more than others but the winning group got a generous amount of local wares as a prize. We didnt find the rum cake, though. And we still had plenty of time and money for lunch and shopping in the afternoon! I am so glad we booked this adventure, I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Nassau for something a little different.

There was only one other team on this excursion. We had fun, it was hot, lots of walking. We were given a map and had a fixed amount of time to visit as many designated spots on the map as possible. I would do it again.

We had so much fun racing around town. The locals are extremely friendly and helpful. It was a great way to see the city, learn a little and have fun.

This is so much fun! A cheap and fun way to explore and learn about Nassau. They give you a map and a time limit to collect as many points as possible towards winning the scavenger hunt. We traveled on foot very quickly sometimes jogging, and still only saw probably 75 of the sites! I would recommend doing the earliest tour so afterwards you still have time to explore and eat before the last ferry returns to paradise island. The locals were very kind along the way helping us with directions. I would not recommend doing this tour with small children, it is a lot of walking and to make it worth your time you have to be somewhat fast paced. If you win, you also get some awesome local prizes. Fun, safe, affordable, if we ever return I would love to do it again!

Our family had a blast on this adventure. We have four kids, aged 6-13, and everyone enjoyed the competition and adventure running around downtown Nassau and learning about the history. We'll be looking for something like this on all our vacations. Just be aware, there are not a lot of sidewalks.
