What To Expect

Meet your group in a central location and embark on your food tour through Nassau! Get off the Bahamas tourist trail and visit some beloved downtown eateries where you'll learn local cooking secrets from the chefs and entrepreneurs who are at the heart of Nassau's culinary scene.

Stop and sample delicious food in a variety of venues, including a family-owned Bahamian soul-food restaurant; an art gallery & craft cocktail bar serving up locally inspired dishes; a restaurant known for Bahamian/Greek fusion; a fair-trade, organic chocolatier to sample hand-made truffles and more!

Between tastings, you’ll wander the leafy streets of downtown Nassau, soaking in stories and history from your local guide. Admire the colonial era architecture and get a feel for the local culture. Your guide will also be able to share recommendations and tips for the rest of your trip.

You’ll conclude the tour with a satisfied belly and a new understanding of downtown Nassau and Bahamian cuisine!

The food was delicious! Lisa did a great job giving us a tour of the downtown Nassau highlights and sharing history of their culture, traditions and Bahamian lifestyle! We recommend you do this tour to see something other than the resorts, and here’s an inside tip…pay the additional $20 to get the bonus island drinks, they are fantastic!!!

The tour was awesome! We saw very picturesque places that we wouldn't have known about if not for the tour. Captain Ron was prompt, knowledgeable, and personable! The food was very good and we were stuffed by the end. Captain Ron even has wifi! That was totally unexpected but amazing because the cell service isn't great. We really enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend this tour!

Wow, what an amazing tour! Celebrated my birthday with a group of friends, and we had an incredible time! Our tour guide, Deja, was super sweet and extremely knowledgeable. At each of the food stops, the people were hospitable and made us feel very welcomed. They went above and beyond to make my birthday even more special, especially the Hillside House. The food was really good, and viator was very accommodating when a member of our party was unable to make it (canceled within the 24 hours deadline) by crediting a gift voucher. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Nassau!

My wife and I had an amazing time walking around and eating the different foods. It was great getting the recipes because the peas and rice were great and now I can try at home. We don’t drink alcohol and she made special arrangements for alcohol free drinks…which were spectacular. This is a definite do your!

The guide was amazing, kind, and thoughtful. The locals were very hospitable. It was worth it just for the cultural aspect. If you’re an omnivore, make time for this! The rum punch and chocolates were my fav. If you’re not an omnivore, you should like seafood. I wish I’d known it wasn’t very vegan friendly or been offered a different price, perhaps, but not a huge deal. Most locations did try but the cuisine just isn’t very vegetarian friendly and I expect there isn’t much demand for comparable substitutes.

Really well run tour. It is approximately 1.5miles in total taken very slowly with lots of information about the history of Nassau during the breaks. The food was excellent and LISA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Our guide) Is an incredible host who tells you about the food and restaurants during the meal.
