I would definitely recommend this tour. Our tour guide, Will, was AWESOME. I visited Nassau as part of a cruise with my daughters and really wasn't interested in visiting the ever-popular waterpark attraction in Nassau I won't name it, but you can probably guess what I mean. I read great reviews about this tour, but was a little worried beforehand about whether my daughters would resent me for taking a more cultural/historical approach to our visit...They LOVED the tour as well.

Will really made us feel like locals. He's very popular around town and it was great to see so many people stop to say hello. You can feel his love for his hometown and appreciation of the history I don't know if I could speak such details of my own hometown. The food was great. I don't know what else to say, except that if you haven't already, be sure to take this tour!

This tour was wonderful! Captain Ron was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable about the city and culture of Nassau along with its history. He was very personable and entertaining. We were able to see the old Episcopal church and a few nearby hotels. The food along the tour was awesome, especially the Bahamian Kitchen. They even sent us the recipes for our favorite foods! We tasted foods such as stewed chicken, conch fritters, handmade chocolates, different drinks and Greek salad. There were many others as well. All the places we visited were within walking distance of the cruise port. We highly recommend Captain Ron and this tour. You won't be disappointed.

This tasting tour was amazing! Captain Ron is the best tour guide in Nassau. Delicious, fun, and informative. We learned about Nassau and its food, ate gelato, chocolates, rum cake, conch fritters and chowder, a Bahama Mama, and more! All while visiting hotels, restaurants and a variety of sites. Barbara

Captain Ron was fantabulous!! He most definitely knew the neighborhood and did a great job of helping us to feel welcome and a part
We are both foodies so of course we enjoyed that immensely! Thoroughly enjoyed hearing the history of the people, struggles and experiencing their successes!! Hats off to all of the owners and kudos for their love of their country!! Don't miss out on sharing a Bahama Mama with Max!!! A real treat!! The art, the lore, the restoration, the craftsmanship and great food all in one tour!! Favorite part Captain Ron of course!! Money well spent and would do all over again!!

Captain Ron was wonderful with all his stops and explaining all the history and inside stories of Nassau. The six stops were great with the tastings large enough to more than cover what you would eat for lunch. I recommend the late morning tour to enjoy Nassau without the heat of the day making the walking too hard, and enjoying the food of the Bahamas.

Captain Ron provided a great tour. He spoke about the history and culture of the Bahamas in a friendly and innovative way. The stops along the way provided a wide variety of the local foods and drinks. This was the best 3 hours we ever spent. This will be on out to do list on our next trip.

Fantastic Cultural and Tasting Food Tour in the Nassau. My family and I total of 5 people had a wonderful time and greatly enjoyed having Captain Ron as our tour guide. Could have not asked for a better one. He is kind, knowledgeable and passionate about the food and culture of the Bahamas. Our first stop was the Bahamian Cooking Restaurant, which has been opened for 30 years. Captain Ron taught us about the history of the restaurant, how to prepare a conch and also introduced us to the lovely owner of the restaurant. We had the most amazing local lunch, in which you could taste the love of the cooking. We started with conch fritters--- AMAZING!! flavorful steamed chicken, spicy baked macaroni, rice and pigeon peas, and coleslaw. We wrapped up with fresh lemonade. We visited the Graycliff chocolate and icecream stores delicious. Culturally we toured the Graycliff cigar factory workers are from Cuba, tour of Christ Church Cathedral, The Towne Hotel where we met Max will keep this as a surprise! Again a huge thank you to Captain Ron, who treated us like family :

Our food tour leader was Cap'n Ron. He is now like family! What a great tour! He really personalized the tour for us and gave our group a lot of background on what we were looking at. The food was so tasty - and truly Bahamian! Conch fritter. Steamed chicken. Baked macaroni and cheese Bahamian style. Rice and peas pigeon peas, not green peas. Coleslaw. Ice cream. Rum cake very tasty. We also had some Graycliff chocolate, a tour of the Graycliff cigar factory, a short tour of Christ Church Cathedral, as well as a tour of The Towne Hotel where we sipped on rum punch. What a tour! Thanks Cap'n Ron!

Captain Ron was our guide and he was terrific! Truly enjoyed our walk with us 3 and 2 others. We got a late start because AND EVERYONE TRAVELING FROM A DIFFERENT TIME ZONE TAKE NOTE the ship was still on Central time but the island is on Eastern. Should have thought about it, but all the Carnival excursions are on ship time, so.... But one of the Christ Church good folks noticed us hanging around and remembered Captain Ron looking for his lost party and notified Tru Tasting. We had only missed the 1st course, and he arranged for us to get it to go, so at each stop after we ate a little from it. Everything was REALLY good, and the tours were enjoyable. We went back to the chocolate store after to make purchases.

We received a text reminder and welcome on Day 1 of our cruise from the tour leader and guide. I was able to respond that the ship announced a new time to arrive in port on day 3 and so we would miss our scheduled tour. We received an immediate text reply stating that he would schedule a new tour time that would accommodate our arrival. Upon arrival at the designated meeting place, we realized our guide had arranged this tour for the 2 of us and only one other couple and this couple never showed up. Instead of cancelling us, we ended up with a most marvelous private tour of Nassau that included a wonderful and filling food tasting, and a great description and history of the places we saw by a very knowledgeable gentleman who was born and raised in Nassau. All of this with a pending hurricane heading for the Bahamas within days. I have been on two prior, similar tours that were very good, but this tour was by far so much better. There was more to eat, a cocktail was served, and the guide could not have been better. I highly recommend this particular Nassau Food Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour to everyone, even if you have tried something similar in the past,. I feel certain that you will NOT be disappointed.

Fun and filling 3 hours! Alexandra was a delightful guide and our visits to the local restaurants exceeded our expectations. The tour was more professional than most we have done, in that they provided each of us with a printed brochure, map, list of restaurants we were going to visit and coupons for local shops. Would highly recommend this to round out your Nassau visit.

While visiting Nassau, we wanted to experience traditional Bahamian foods and culture. This tour definitely delivered! Our tour guide was Tavette. She greeted us with a friendly smile and she was truly excited about the tour she was going to take us on.
The tour was 3 hours long and covered 6 different places where we sampled traditional food and drink from the Bahamas. During the walk, we were educated on the various historic buildings and points of interest. Tavette truly knew in great depth about the various foods, dishes and historic buildings. The tour was very well paced so that no one was really tired at the end of it. I highly recommend this tour if you REALLY want to experience traditional Bahamian foods and culture in a fun and educational way.

We recently went on this tour and had an amazing time. Our host was Will and he was great! He even had ponchos for us when it started to rain. We came in on a cruise ship and only had a short walk to connect with our tour.
I highly recommend this tour in Nassau!

The food tour was the best part of our 3 day cruise to the Bahamas. We learned a lot of history, saw a lot of the city, and really enjoyed interacting with our guide, Alex. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for something fun and educational while on the island. I thought the highlights were chocolate and gelato, but the views were also high-points.

This tour was the best my boyfriend and I went on while in the Bahamas. Our guide, Tivet, was incredibly fun, sweet, and knowledgeable. She shared with us her stories of her conch fisherman family and taught us all about the sea creature. She was also very patient with our small group as we stopped to shop for chocolates and cigars at Graycliff. Every stop was so delicious and an exciting new experience. My boyfriend eats A LOT and even he was satisfied by the end of this tour. I would recommend this tour to EVERYONE who visits the Bahamas. It will give you the inside scoop to the best places and foods to eat! You will not be disappointed!

We loved this amazing tour that included drinks, lunch, snacks and dessert. Our personal guide, Murray introduced us to beautiful downtown Nassau with lots of interesting historical and cultural information about the area. This tour in Nassau was the absolute highlight of our mini cruise to the Bahamas. We loved the Greycliffe Hotel -- it looks like a hole-in-the-wall from the street but the grounds are spectacular the pool, the cigar factory, the chocolate factory sampled some delicious chocolates and the gardens! The Towne Hotel is a very cool art-deco place with a great bar try the planter's punch and a roof-top patio. The food was outstanding! We visited a Bahamian restaurant and sampled conch fritters yummy pulled chicken and the best mac and cheese. We also sampled some refreshing gelato while learning about the architecture of the area. My husband also tasted a rum cake. We visited an established Greek restaurant, Athena, which has been in Nassau for decades it is above a jewelry store and sampled conch chowder and a tasty green salad. We enjoyed visiting with George and his beautiful wife, Anya Miss Bahamas - 2007. You can expect to walk about 1.5 miles some easy hills and stairs. The tour takes approximately 3 hours time well spent. Book this tour now! You won't regret it - it's the best thing you can do in Nassau.
Special kudos to Murray who went out of his way to accommodate our later-than-expected cruise ship arrival and ensured we didn't stress out about it. Also, I'm allergic to walnuts so Murray called ahead to the cake shop and arranged for me to have a pineapple cake instead of the rum cake which contains walnuts. I was impressed and appreciated his effort.

Been to Nassau at least 6 times before and never knew we could do this tour. In one word it was fantastic!! learned more about the island then in our previous trips , not to mention that the food we tasted was delicious!! By the end of the tour you are full. real good choice of venues to visit. I highly recommend doing this tour. So well worth it!
