Performers at the Old Fort
After evening pickup from your Delhi hotel, travel by air-conditioned vehicle to the Old Fort (Purana Qila), the city's vast and impressive 15th-century fort.
On arrival, take your open-air seat for the spectacular 1-hour Sound and Light show, a dazzling retelling of Delhi’s turbulent history through the past 5,000 years.
As the music builds, be swept up by the visual extravangaza as multi-colored lasers and floodlights illuminate the massive ramparts and gateways, and bring the city’s past to life under the theme of the ‘Seven Cities of Delhi.’
Watch as special effects and visual projections depict tales from Hindu mythology, together with real-life events such as the 12th-century king Prithviraj Chauhan fleeing with the beautiful Samyogita.
Watch, too, as Sher Shah Suri, the 16th-century shah who established the original fort, is killed by a misfiring cannon, and Bahadur Shah Zafar, India’s last Mughal emperor, surrenders to the British in 1857.
After the show, take your leave of the fort, and enjoy a transfer back into central Delhi. Here, be shown to a local restaurant, and savor a scrumptious Indian dinner — the perfect finale to your evening.
Your experience then finishes with a hotel drop-off.
