We liked that this was a smaller group tour as opposed to several others we encountered that morning. Our guide was knowledgeable about history and architecture and the pace was perfect. Our only regret was not getting to the meeting place earlier to sample the fare at District Donuts. That is not to be missed!
Awesome tour! Our tour guide Loki was amazing! He was highly knowledgable about the area and was able to easily answer any question he was asked. He had so many interesting and entertaining stories to tell, there was never a moment of boredom! Loki gave us so much information on the history, culture, and architecture of New Orleans! Definitely a must do!
Great guide Ashton hope I have her name correct. We learned so much about the history of how New Orleans came to be. She also pointed out interesting architectural facts about the design and landscaping of the homes. Things we would never have known if we just self guided. She was also very caring about our comfort as it was a very hot./humid day and we had a few older guests with us. So much information. Again another must do.
Loki our guide was great and gave a lot of personal stories about houses used by movie stars, hauntings, and a disliked Union general. The cemetery tour and burial practices were totally fascinating. Clarifications of the various communities of New Orleans was very enlightening also.
Toured with Richard in the pouring rain. He gave an excellent tour. Richard knows his history and New Orleans. I enjoyed learning about the beautiful mansions and the history behind the above ground cemeteries. Well worth it! I highly recommend it!
Guide was friendly, funny and very knowledgable! Took us on a great tour and had us spotting how old homes were, which discreetly showed wealth. Explained old traditions in a very interesting way! Great tour! Missing so much if you just go on your own!
Loki nickname, the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable of the Garden District. He was able to provide information about the architecture of the various hoses and stories about events with them. His story of how they handled burials at the cemetery was insightful and educational. Highly recommend the tour!
An affordable, informative and colorful tour as our Gide Loki is a native whose French ancestors Can be traced back to the 17th century. Loki guided us through the beautiful homes in the garden district as well as Lafayette cemetery. You might be surprised what you will learn in regards to new and old history on this tour.
Wonderful tour by Grey. Very informative and good pace. I was with my husband, mother and 3 aunts and everyone enjoyed. .
Lokie was our guide I'm not completely sure how his name is spelled. He was very informative and since his is a native New Orlean he really knew the history of the Garden District. Was a fun, interesting tour. Highly recommend.
Loki was our tour guide and is a NOLA native going back many generations. Great personal view of the city and it's unique history. Wear comfortable shoes, keep up the pace and listen well and you will have a great time and learn much! Thanks!
The guided tour was extremely interesting. The guide was very knowledgable, being someon who grew up in these houses.
Very good information and I would highly recommend it!
This was a beautiful tour in a beautiful area. What gorgeous houses! We saw the Mannings house, and Anne Rice's two houses.
There is so much interesting history there!
Loki, our tour guide, did a phenomenal job. He's native of New Orleans, dating back many generations. Thanks for showing us around!
Two chicks tours did a great job. Loki was our guide, and you can't do better than a local who grew up in the neighborhood being toured! We had a small group of 9 which also enhanced our tour for obvious reasons. We are very happy that we booked this tour through Viator.
The tour was great, and I would recommend it to a friend if they are going to be travelling to New Orleans. Richard, the tour guide, was excellent, he was very knowledgeable about the history of the houses and he also had a sense of humor, which made it more enjoyable. It was a lot of walking, but it was definitely worth it!
Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable! There is quite a bit of walking and we were able to see some gorgeous homes. That is a lovely area and a great way to see it.
Wonderful tour guide! So friendly and knowledgeable!! Loved the small tour group. Be careful if you park your car in the area. We were 5 minutes past the two hour time limit and got a ticket.
Our guide was excellent. I would highly recommend this walking tour. The information and knowledge we learned was wonderful, specific, and interesting. Our group was small and casual so we could ask lots of questions. If you are interested in learning the history of the garden district, do this tour
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about everything and we really enjoyed her. She kept the theme music running and was very passionate about the history of the town. What we didn't enjoy so much was the HEAT. It was 3 hours of walking at 1:00 pm in the dead heat. That's Louisiana though, so be prepared. She does guide you to a cute coffee shop and library that has AC and drinks. -
We liked the small group, which made it more personal and easy to hear. We wish there had been more historical information/stories provided and additional sites seen as it was a little pricey for what was received.
