Fantastic insight to the background / history of mardi gras - great staff
just let down by Viator's inaccuracy of limited opening hours / last tours / collection shuttle schedule around mardi gras.
We took this tour during Mardi Gras week, but it would be an excellent tour to take any time. The guide was informative and we had all of the time that we wanted to explore the floats and behind-the-scenes work.

This tour was very interesting. Great to have a chance to go behind the scenes. A nice way to spend an afternoon away from the heat!
Truly one-of-a-kind, there's not 'something else like this' anywhere. It's got a great story and a great history behind it. Got a wonderful guide Madison, a lifer from N.O. who's lived Mardi Gras her entire life. 15 min. film of the history of all things Mardi Gras then a tour of the warehouse that was incredible and fascinating. If you're going to do New Orleans you really should check this place out.
I never knew... I learned so much about the Mardi Gras and saw how the masks and costumes and fabulous floats are made in the wonderful one-hour tour.
Just amazing! Every you want to know about Mardi Gras and see the floats up close.
This was one of our most economically priced tours and not sure what to expect!! We were thrilled! Kids loved it- we loved it- great pictures, great feeling and certainly more than worth the ticket price! Go for it!
The tour was informative, but limited. The ride pick up and drop off was outstanding. Highly recomend
Really cool to get the inside look at the creation and painting of the floats. Ability to walk around on your own which was nice also. Should note however there was no air conditioning in the building just big fans and it was hot!
This was one of the surprising highlights of our trip to New Orleans. The floats are simply unbelievable and the guide provides loads of useful information as well as some fun bits including dressing up in costume. This has inspired me to come back to New Orleans when Mardi Gras is on to see the floats in action.
Fun, was what we expected! Was also interesting to see how the floats are made. If you're looking for the heart of New Orleans this tour is a good option.
This tour was better than expected! I had no idea that one company Kern family creates all the floats for Mardis Gras not to mention creating for multiple Disney locations as well as the Chic Fil A billboard cows : I enjoy 'behind the scenes' tours so this was great, learned about the manufacturing of the floats as well as the operational, design and marketing sides. If you like 'behind the scenes', this is a great tour. Guide was great, though a bit rushed. Shuttle will pick you up on call at most hotels, driver was excellent!

Soo colorful and fun! The tour is short, but you can ask all the questions you want and take time to look around. There are costumes to try on, a video, a slice of King Cake, and the tour! A must do for families!
I highly recommend this tour...enjoyed seeing the floats and learning about how Mardi Gras works.
Highly recommend taking the time to visit! Great info and insight into the history and tradition of Mardi Gras! So cool to see all the floats and how they start out on a sheet of paper to completion by very talented craftsman!
We had fun trying those krewe costumes and taking pics with the floats. Amazing pixie robot! A must in NoLa!
Very interesting so see how they make everything that they use in the parades.
Very interesting tour. It starts with a short film and some King Cake. Our guide then took us to the warehouse and gave us back ground information into the parades, krews, and we experienced first hand the artistry that surrounds the year round construction that goes into preparing for this New Orleans celebration. It is absolutely amazing what this talented company can do. Prepare to be in awe!
This tour is well worth the money. I would recommend going in the morning before it gets crowded. They show you a short film about the history of Mardi Gras and then you go on a guided tour through the warehouse. After the tour, they let you wander around and take pictures. They have a lot, and I mean a lot, of props from past Mardi Gras parades. We went one week before Mardi Gras and they were working on 20-30 floats for one of the upcoming parades. It was totally amazing. This was one of my favorite tours and I would definitely go again.
This tour was so much fun!!! I've been to NOLA many times and never realized the tour was available. Interesting facts about the beginnings of Mardi Gras and the making of the floats. We went at the perfect time, just a few weeks before the beginning of the parades. I felt like a kid at the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory. Gigantic bright flowers, characters and floats!!
