The tour was well organised. Our pick up point was in the French Quarter and the bus went direct to the destination after a few more hotel pickups along the way. The Oak Alley and Laura plantations were very different and it was worthwhile and an interesting contrast to see both. The guides at the plantations were provided by the establishments and both were good, particularly at Laura.
A wonderful day. Laura was really special. I would have liked more time at Oak Alley, you basically have a very fast tour through the house for about 30 minutes then have to race back to the bus to get back to town.
Our guide at Laura Plantation, Renee, was fantastic. a beautiful place with a rich history.
Once on this trip it was a wonderful experience. The tour guides were friendly and informative. The locations were wonderful. I had an incredible experience there!!! Both of the locations were a treat to enjoy.
These plantations were quite majestic, especially Oak Alley Plantation. Those mighty oak trees lining the entrance to the plantation are truly a sight to behold. A thorough history of the plantation and it and #39;s residents was also provided. Definitely worth doing. Our driver; John did a great job.
The tour was great. The people at each plantation had lots of information for us. the Laura Plantation had a lot of history but The Oak Alley had history plus beauty. The amount of time spent at each was good. I did not feel rushed. The bus driver was good also.
This tour was the highlight of my trip to New Orleans. It came highly recommended to me by a friend and I was so happy I did it.
Our bus driver was awesome. She was so upbeat and told some great stories. Big thumbs up!
Trip was well done. Picked up on time at our hotel. Tours were excellent.

Laura Plantation tour was fabulous. Rose, the tour guide, was incredible. She really emoted the history of this plantation and made it so very interestingl Oak Alley is gorgeous, a real southern belle. The tour guide was informative and all the staff were in period costume. Definitely a hit!!
Our family of 5 loved this tour! We were picked up at our hotel in the morning and had a narrated bus tour by our driver, Stacy, on the way to Laura Plantation. Our guide, Kati, at Laura Plantation was amazing at story telling and making the Plantation come alive. Oak Alley is a beautiful place to see, even on a somewhat rainy day. We were then dropped back off right at the front door of our hotel. It was a great day!
Liked Laura more than Oak Alley. The history there is just amazing. A true learning experience.
This was a tour I would definitely recommend. The guides were very knowledgeable and plantation life was not glorified. You were able to see the deplorable conditions of the slaves if you chose to go to the slave quarters. There was a lot of history of the region included as well as cultural information about life during the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.
Wonderful wonderful tour. The historical and genealogy research was amazing. And our bus driver to the plantation provided great information on the ride out and played wonderful blues and jazz music on the ride back.
This was a fabulous tour! We learned so much about plantation life in the Big Easy! The grounds were beautiful and the tour guides were well informed as well as entertaining. The driver on our bus was an awesome guide as well telling us all about the sites as we drove to the plantations. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in the history of plantation life in New Orleans.
It was well organized, informative and fun. All the tour guides were great.
The bus came about 40 mins late with being informed earlier. The bus driver was friendly and cheerful. The drive to the plantation was quite enjoyable and the bus was not packed to the full capacity.
Really enjoyed the tour but would have like an extra hour and a half at Oak Alley to be able to see everything and eat.
Kathy was wonderful, loved her personal stories. The plantation tours were great and very interesting, but we needed another hour at Oak Valley to enjoy and explore the grounds.
Nice way to visit the two plantations. Guided tour at Laura was the right amount of time and information. Wish had a little more time at Oak Alley to see the outside exhibits, but still got the guided tour and beautiful view of the oaks leading up to the plantation. Rough roads leaving New Orleans! Be ready for a bumpy ride.
My rating is based solely on the timing of this tour. The first stop was Laura Plantation where we took a wonderful 90 minute tour. Our guide was absolutely amazing in telling the story of the family that lived in this plantation. However, Oak Valley was visited in a rush. There is a 45 minute narrated tour through the house and then we were only given 20 minutes to explore the grounds and eat lunch. Obviously not enough to do either. There is a restaurant on the grounds but there was no time for that. I would have preferred extending the tour by an hour to give people the time to explore or have a nice relaxing lunch prior to heading back to New Orleans.
