What You Can Expect

Small-Group Bayou Airboat Ride with Transport from New Orleans

Airboat in the Louisiana Bayous

Choose the morning or afternoon for your small group airboat adventure and enjoy pickup from your downtown New Orleans or French Quarter hotel. Once aboard air-conditioned van, settle into a comfortable seat for the 1‐hour ride to your launch site deep in Cajun Country. Enjoy lively onboard commentary about the history and culture of the area from your guide as you leave the city behind for the wild wetlands.

Upon arrival, take your seat on the airboat and hold on as the boat takes off for about a 2‐hour tour. Enjoy close proximity to the water surface and warm breezes as you zip through secluded bayous, reaching speeds of up to 45 mph (72 kph). Spot alligators, snakes, beavers, and giant river rodents called nutria lurking in the waterways. Savor the moments of calm when the boat slows and your native captain shares stories about the area’s history and abundant wildlife.

Your bayou adventure of roughly two hours ends with a return to your hotel by van, arriving in early afternoon or evening.

This was a highlight of our trip to New Orleans. You've got to do this tour. The guide was funny and informative. He spotted alligators, turtles and birds, and got us up close and personal with one alligator that he fed marshmallows to, petted and played with him, and then gave him a kiss! The airboat ride was fast and fun! Great time!

Loved the small group setting. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking and the fast airboat ride a thrill for sure. Several alligators spotted and fed, and we even saw a bald eagle. Our airboat guide was very knowledgeable about the swamplands and for sure knew his way around. Highly recommend!!

Really fun. Highlight of our visit to New Orleans. One tip: Make sure your sunglasses aren't breaking the seal to your ear-muffs. The airboat is REALLY loud.
