Awesome. George our tour guide was very knowledgeable about Nola history. Swamp tour with Brandon was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about wildlife. He had various animal furs, talked about the animals, passed around real animals including a baby alligator for us to hold and take pictures with
The guide was great, very knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommend this tour.
Sandy was a wealth of information during drive to each location. Jim clearly loves what he does, and provided excellent tour of the plantation. Tim the boat captain made the swamp tour fun. He pointed out all the various ways to clean, eat or sale swamp critters. Was worth the time! I encourage others to bring lunch a long, plenty of time for picnic.
Very interesting tour. Not too long. Knowledgeable guides. Very good organization of everything. Not to mention the beauty of the places.
Your was very good. The plantation tour was very informative. Enjoyed the swamp tour as well, considering that this is December and chilly for gators, we still had a good tour, including learning about wildlife in the swamp.
Not only is the tour itself a wonderful experience the guides teach you a lot about New Orleans it's history etc. Thank you for a wonderful experience
We had an amazing tour! Our guide, Brandon, was very knowledgeable not only of the area but of history and environmental issues in general. His was an almost unscripted narrative, open to questions and side topics, that was extremely interesting and educational. By the end of our swamp ride he had pulled out his pets to pass around - snakes, turtles, an alligator, etc... that he allowed us to hold and photograph. It was great! Highly recommend this tour.
Plantation tour w/ docents in period costumes was like taking a trip back in time. Our docent Frank was especially knowledgable. Followed up by a cruise through the swamp showed many of nature's beauties!
We had a great time doing the Plantation tour. It was in a lovely location and so very informative. Our guide knew so much and was able to impart that knowledge in a fun and interesting way. I would have liked a little bit longer to look around but there is so much to see and do that we needed to keep going.
The Swamp tour was a lot of fun. Captain Dan was a great guy who made us laugh but also let us know how much care and attention was taken to keep the area as environmentally/ecologically safe at the same time as letting as many people visit and experience something special at the same time. A very full, fun and interesting day.
Excellent tour which covered 2 of our 'must sees' in New Orleans without too much coach driving. We were driven to the Plantation and had an excellent tour round the house. We were left to wander round the buildings in the grounds which was great as we could do this in our own way. We had a map and there was either a guide or plenty of information at each building. we did not feel rushed at all.
We then had a short drive to the swamp boat ride. this was superb - a quiet private swamp, no fast power boats, a really lovely knowledgeable local guide and plenty of animals- turtles, alligators, raccoons, pigs and birds. What a lovely way to spend a couple of hours. Highly recommended.
There tour was fun and informative. Not to much time at each place and a good variety
The plantation and swamp tour both worth it. We all loved it! Definitely do this tour when in NOLA!
This was a fun tour! Sandy was so entertaining, as she shared interesting facts. The plantation was very interesting and we loved the swamp experience, seeing the preserved area and it's native creatures. Holding a baby alligator was a pleasant surprise. This tour was short and sweet... I highly recommend it!
Just loved the tour of the Destrehan Plantation_ so well preserved. The tour was very informative. The swamp boat ride was fun. We saw many many alligators that swam right up to the boat. The tour guide was very informative about swamp life.
This was a good way to visit two of the must do's for the first time NOLA visitor. The plantation has been beautifully restored and gives you a true insight into the life of not only the plantation family but of their slaves. There are actual slave quarters to visit which have been rescued from another plantation before they were destroyed. The real highlight of the day was the Swamp tour. We saw alligators, raccoons, egrets, turtles and beautiful trees and plants. Our tour guide Captain Nolan ? was full of knowledge and shared the history of this particular swamp, history of NOLA, educated us about the animals and plants, and even went into Cajun and Creole history.
Amazing tour, actually saw alligators! Really enjoyed the sights!
Both the swamp boat ride and plantation tour were great! Very informative! Really nothing negative about it. Only thing I would recommend is bringing some snacks as there aren't many options. Highly recommend!
Knowledgeable Captain/Guide - a total bayou experience!!! Highly recommend.
Very knowledgeable and entertaining tour guides. Wished the swamp tour was on an airboat, but still had a lot of fun.
Sandy was our tour guide. She was pleasant and knowledgeable. Although the plantation was not one of the biggest it was awesome. Beautiful grounds and the most fantastic stately oak trees. Beverly our guide in the plantation home was sincere and gave lengthily history of all aspects of plantation life. We also saw a blacksmith demonstration very informative. From there we drove to to the swamp tour. We saw mostly small alligators as we navigated the bayou. Excellent tour. We even got to hold a baby alligator!
