Overview

Discover the mystique of the swamps and bayous on a sightseeing boat tour from New Orleans. Travel deep into the secluded bayous across the Mississippi River to witness Cajun life and spot native wildlife. Your guide will provide commentary on Cajun culture and the myth‐laden swamps while you snap photos of alligators, raccoons, snakes, turtles, and native birds.
  • New Orleans swamp and bayou sightseeing tour
  • Take a boat ride through swamps and bayous and watch for alligators, raccoons, snakes, turtles, birds, and more
  • Learn all about Cajun culture from your guide
  • Round-trip transportation form the French Quarter is included
Choose a morning or afternoon pickup from the French Quarter and climb aboard your coach for the ride deep into Cajun country. Watch the changing scenery as the cityscape transitions into expansive wetlands. You coach delivers you to the launch point across the Mississippi River, where you’ll transfer to an open‐sided, covered boat and set off on the fun and educational ride.

Your native guide will take you on a wildlife‐spotting expedition through this legendary Louisiana terrain. Glide along the water, viewing the lush greenery and abundant local wildlife, including nesting alligators, egrets, raccoons, snakes, and giant nutria. Some wildlife are more easily spotted during the warmer months of the year.  Get great photos and learn about the history and mystery of the swamps, including the culture and ingenuity of the Cajun people who have populated this region for almost 250 years. Your guides will share stories about Cajun music, bayou lifestyle, and culinary traditions — like the creation of Louisiana’s signature gumbo, as well as information about the region’s passionate efforts to preserve the wetlands.

Your coach returns to the French Quarter by mid‐afternoon or evening.

Could not understand tour guide 95% if the time when talking Waited over 30 min to go on boat after bus drop off And 20 min more to get back onto bus. By that time it was rush hour and missed my next appointment

What an absolutely fantastic day out. Even better than what we had hoped for. Our guide was great fun and had loads of information for us. We saw alligators, turtles, pelicans, eagles.... totally blown away. Well worth the money. Well organised and very safety conscious too.

Lack of communication

This company has a big lack of communication. We went to the address asked as planned... No one there to tell us where to go... Important to know that you need to take a bus and the ride lasts about 35 - 40 min to get there. But the captain and boat ride was good

Alton was our bus driver and he was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot from him commentary. The boat ride was fantastic - it was a sunny day but quite cold so we only saw 2 gators, but the scenery was beautiful and it was most enjoyable. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a taste of the swamp in NO.

I had booked the boat (pontoon) ride, but it wasn't running so had to take the air boat which was too noisy for me. The guide was informative and did a good job. The Gray line bus to get to the bayou had very noisy windows.

The tour of the beautiful bayou was led by an informative guide and lifelong resident of the area. Holding the baby gator was great and overall I would recommend this trip.
