We had a great time on this tour! Ronnie was our guide and he made it a fun experience from the beginning. We went to three different wine tastings, one with cheeses, and all three were really excellent. We tried some really delicious and different wines throughout the day. The lunch was at a neat brewpub type place. The vodka distillery was fun-my husband tried the spiciest vodka they make...it was great fun. The chocolate distillery has a lot of options to satisfy any sweet tooth. We even had time to look for kangaroos in the area! All in all a great day!
We had problems with communications with Zepher tours in a few places. The confirmation information wasn't clear on where we were to meet the tour. We called twice the day before the tour to get the information, and 3 times on the day of the tour to realize that we showed up at 6:45 for a 7:45 pick up time. Unfortunately we had booked the wrong date (we booked Sunday and showed up on Monday), but the tour company didn't try to contact us to locate us the day of the tour when we were a no show and because it took us so long to actually connect with someone the day we thought we had booked, the tour had already left the city having not shown up at the pick up location that we waited at for nearly 2 hours. When we realized that the date was wrong, the young woman on the phone said that her manager would call us when they weren't so busy to see what we could do, and i wasn't surprised when we got no communication. So although the error was ours, Zepher Tours was content to take the money for our tour and obviously believes that they owe us no communication. They may provide good tours, but be prepared to chase after them for communications.
Good choice with wineries and lots of wine options
The overall trip was good as we visited three wineries and one resort. We were offered over 6 selections at each winery, ranging from Reds, Whites, Gin and dessert wines. The tour was a bit pricey because the wine tasting at wineries is almost free...
Our driver was “Cheeks”! He was friendly, knowledgeable about the area, he gave us great bits of info and we had a great time! The wineries and distillery were very educational and delicious (you won’t get drunk though, lol), and “KRIKEY”, we saw a ton of wild kangaroos! If you do this tour and Cheeks is your driver, you won’t be disappointed!
An excellent day outside of Sydney. Our guide was Sam who took us to several vineyards for wine tastings and explained things as we went along. Perfect end of the day==spotting a family of wild kangaroos in the field adjacent to our last country winery. Such a perfect experience in every way.
This was truly a experience that I throughly enjoyed. What made the tour amazing was Billy Ryan and the beautiful vineyards. This tour included lunch, wine tasting along with local cheeses. The fellowship and and small group connection was pleasant and very friendly. I highly recommend the wine tasting tour.
Worth every penny! Got to taste some pretty good wines, try delicious balsamic vinegar & olive oil, see SO MANY kangaroos, eat delicious cheese and lunch and ending with the distillery & fudge factory was the bees knees! Ask questions, enjoy every sip, and love the Hunter :)
This was an enjoyable day out. We were taught how to taste wine properly and the varieties we tasted were all very pleasant, as was the lunch. I'm less sure about the value of the visit to the distillery.
Excellent tour! Very good driver/guide. Great wineries to visit. At the first one the tastings were very small: you'd think they would be more generous in an attempt to sell their wine. The second one was the opposite: generous tastings with cheese and crackers plus a very delicious large portion lunch. A unique vodka distillery with many flavor infusions. Then a good chocolate tasting, and finally generous tastings at another winery: I'm glad I'm not driving!
