What You Can Expect

9/11 Memorial Museum Admission

Steel cross beams recovered from the site

Start your visit to the 9/11 Memorial Museum with a self-guided tour of the exhibitions and multimedia displays. The museum itself is located below the 9/11 Memorial, the reflecting pools that are the footprints of the Twin Towers that fell due to the devastating terrorist attack in 2001.

With your timed admission, you have guaranteed entry to stay for as long as you want. It is suggested that you take at least two hours to wander the museum. This admission saves you time by giving you direct entry into the center with your mobile device.

Be sure to to download the free audio guide to your Apple or Android device so you can get the most out of your museum experience.

The museum also includes a pair of main exhibits: a memorial exhibition called In Memoriam, in honor of the people who lost their lives that day in 2001 as well as the people who were killed during the World Trade Center 1993 bombing. The second exhibition is September 11, 2001, a three-part exhibition that tells the tale of the day and analyzes motives for the attacks. It also shows the aftereffects of the attack and how the event changed the world, both locally and globally.

This museum experience brings out the emotions in the guests who visit. Get ready to hear the stories of loss and sadness, of compassion and recovery, as you explore the space.

The only advantage to this admissions voucher is that you can avoid lines. Since we traveled at a day and time when there were no lines, it was not particularly advantageous to have the voucher, but there was no downside to having it. If I were to visit the memorial on a weekend or any day during the summer, I would highly recommend having it.

This memorial is respectfully done and very moving. We were very moved by the mementos that the families have selflessly donated for exhibit. Our nation was forever changed by this event. But, together we can honor those that were lost on during those tragedies. Thank you to the staff for your friendly service.

Expect to spend at least 2-3 hours to take in the sights at the 911 Museum. We paid the 24.00 adult admission charge prior to arrival through Viator. We were able to select our arrival time prior and print out our tickets before arriving. Get there a bit early to take in the sites of the waterfalls outside. Very touching site. We also downloaded the App for audio before we arrived. Bring your earbuds. You will need to go through airport type screening when you arrive. It is a very quiet respectful place. Make sure you visit this solemn place respectfully. There are staff members in different areas who are knowledgeable of the Museum and very helpful. The entrance to the Museum is near the water pools. You can purchase tickets there when you arrive but it is speedier if you have in hand I'm sure. The Museum is very extensive. You will be walking or standing most of the time but there are benches and bathrooms on site. There is also a small cafeteria on an upper floor. I was somewhat disappointed to see a Museum Store on such a dignified spot. I was more encouraged to see that all proceeds go to survivors though. The Museum was very well presented. It is a must see for anyone who is young or old.
