We didn’t get to bear mountain

It was torrential downpours but the company still had the cruise happen. At no point was it discussed that there would be a chance we couldn’t get off at bear mountain- until we passed bear mountain and they said the tide was too high. Because the cruise was booked as a full day cruise we continued along the water- I passed my apartment twice and was dreaming of getting off the boat!! 9 hours on a boat with little kids was just not fun. The staff on the boat was super wonderful and accommodating. Super disappointed with this experience. I could have flown to Hawaii in that amount of time- I feel like 9 hours of my life were sucked away from me.
Fun day and excellent crews and security.

Both couples had a great time talking and taking pictures. The entertainers played the passengers sang along. Everyone was courteous with one another.
Get sloshed while taking a history lesson

We loved it. Our tour guide was enthusiastic and taught us a lot of interesting history about the Hudson River. The scenery was stunning. The beer kept flowing, oh my God! The hike from where the boat docked at Bear Mountain to the lake was okay. The only restaurant was at the local inn was horrible. Do not order the buffet, major disappointment. The grounds at the inn were very nice and relaxing. The lake was beautiful. Will go on this cruise again.
Not enough time at the park
, Oct 2019
The ride up was beautiful! But we did not have enough time to hike to the observation point and back to the boat in time. We saw the boat leave but luckily there is a bus that goes to Port Authority, seems like they only take cash. The receptionist at the Inn was very helpful. Good cruise but wish there was more time at the park. It’s back to driving ourselves 😆
Great day on the Circle Line

This was a fun trip. There was German food for the Ocktoberfest on board for a reasonable price. Everything was clean & the Captain was awesome!
Some Things Were Great

The cruise up and down the Hudson, the service, the atmosphere on the boat and the Smitty Band were all excellent. My major complaint is the we left pier 83 almost 30 minutes late and we left Bear Mountain a full 30 minutes late. That's one hour of my life gone. And, for what reason? I know that on the return we were waiting for folks who did not arrive at the boat by 3p. Waiting for 30 minutes for such irresponsible people just reinforces their carelessness and punished about 200 folks who had to wait needlessly for them. That settles it for me. I'll not take another Circle Line cruise that stops midway and lets passengers disembark, awaiting their later return.
Great day on the river but Autumn leaves dindt' cooperate
, Oct 2019
The boat trip is as advertised and worth the money. Drinks are pricey though and the pizza is just hot stale bread with cheese on it, but they have a captive audience. The staff were friendly and helpful and had the leaves been in full Autumn colors, it would have been a pretty perfect adventure. I did get lots of great photos of the NYC skyline and sites along the route.
New York’s Not So Hidden Gem! 💎

It was an excellent cruise for everyone’s needs. There were kids, young adults, elderly enjoying a wonderful experience. The exciting parts of the trip were often unexpected! This is truly a New York Spirit kind of experience.
Excellent service

Everything is fine, but they told departure time is 3:00 pm from Bear mountain but they depart actually at 3:45 pm. So either they don’t say 3:00 pm or they should depart on time.
Read the fine print - bait and switch
, Sep 2019
I've taken this cruise three times before in the past six years. While the marketing of this cruise is still around Oktoberfest, the cruise does not take you to an Oktoberfest. The concept in the past was enjoy an Oktoberfest themed cruise on your way to an Oktoberfest festival. Now it is just an Oktoberfest themed cruise - that takes you to a park ... no festival. It is written there no longer is a festival at the park in the description in the fine print, but not upfront in the headline description of the product. Who wants to take an Oktoberfest cruise to nowhere? Taxis and ubers to the actual festival were not reasonable due to time constraints and the waiting required to get one in this rural area. Could be solved by selling as a foliage tour, not Oktoberfest tour. The product on board the cruise was terrible. The second level bar ran out of beer within 30 minutes of departure - which really means they didn't stock properly. The tap beer was warm (kudos on traditional German presentation, but I don't think that's what was really the goal here, more of a happy accident). Service in general was very slow. Was told to go to the downstairs bar if I wanted a soft drink. Why would you not stock that on the second level where most of the people were? This was my fourth and unfortunately last Bear Mountain "Oktoberfest" cruise I will take.
