What To Expect

Make your own way to the Empire State Library in central NYC every day of the year.

On arrival, head inside via the Observatory Entrance at 20 West 34th Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues. Pause here to take in the stunning Lobby, which boasts restored art deco ceiling murals and one of the most famous images of the building above the front desk. Free high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the building to add to your experience.

At the entrance to the 2nd floor, pass through a security checkpoint, and explore the interactive exhibits that tell the story of the landmark's construction to its place in today's pop culture. Watch short film clips through telescopes, use the touch screens, and step into a simulation of an original elevator. Then, head to the surround-sound theater to see film and TV clips that feature this iconic tower.

Next, ride the elevator to the redesigned 80th floor, where you'll find exhibitions on the building's lights and light shows; together with stunning augmented reality experiences delivered by classic binocular viewfinders.

The final elevator ride whisks you up to the 86th-floor Main Deck: home to the highest open-air observatory in New York, and located right in the heart of Manhattan. Great experience! Best city views day or night. I have visited at 5:00pm and was fantastic. The complete tour take about 30-45 minutes, but you have the opportunity to take photos or just sit and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate.

I spent the extra money for the fast pass and access to the 106th floor. We went on Saturday evening in January. The fast pass was definitely not needed. Unfortunately, it was extremely cloudy and we could not really see anything. No fault of the company or place. The employees were amazing and friendly. My son really enjoyed the Hot Chocolate.

It was an awesome experience. The views from the 86th floor were amazing as you were outside the view from the 102 floor was pretty cool but it was indoor through floor to ceiling glass, still pretty amazing. The history and all that went into building the Empire State Building was on display and pretty spectacular! Loved it!

No issue at all, just showed the confirmation QR email and went right in. The entrance to the Empire State Building was a bit hard to find though. Give yourself enough time to find it lol.

Must do on our first trip to NYC, good activity for our entire family. Our 10 year old to 16 year old. They all enjoyed it, we did it in the evening and had a clear view of the New York skyline. It was well worth it.

Great trip worth paying extra for 102 platform. Last time we went to the Empire State was 8 years ago and definitely have improved overall experience to keep up with newer attractions

It was great view from up top. It didn’t get 5 stars though cause as soon as you walk out of the building after the experience, you greeted by people protesting about the establishment that runs the Empire State Building. A little off putting.

The Empire State Building was on my bucket list. It now has a big tick next to it. The staff here are professional and friendly. They made sure everyone got the most out of their visit. Look out for King Kong on your way up! The lifts are fast but you hardly feel them moving. The view is spectacular. I have to admit I didn't stay out on the viewing balcony for long - it was extremely windy but I got some great photos. If you're scared of heights it probably isn't for you. You can still experience the views safely from inside.
