What You Can Expect

NYC Central Park Bike Rental

Central Park

New York City’s Central Park is a designated National Historic Landmark and claims the title of most-visited urban park in the United States. This sprawling green oasis in the middle of the city’s urban bustle covers 843 acres (341 hectares) traversed by numerous paved paths, making it a perfect destination to explore by bike. Due to the Central Park’s popularity, bike rentals often sell out during peak season, so pre-book your rental to ensure there will be a bike waiting for you.
Pick up your bike, helmet, lock, and carrying basket at the rental shop just blocks away from the park. Choose from a selection of hybrid, comfort, mountain, and children’s bikes to suit your group’s size and style. Rent a bike for just an hour or up to 2 days, depending on your schedule.

With the help of a free park map and the recommendations of rental staff, set off to explore more than 47 miles (75 km) of bike-friendly paths that wind through open meadows, lakes, bridges, gardens, and memorials. See famous attractions such as the Conservatory Garden, Belvedere Castle, the Central Park Zoo, the Imagine Mosaic, and the Central Park Carousel. Enjoy the flexibility of touring on two wheels, and stop to admire the scenery or take a rest as often as you like.

easy to pick up and navigate to the park, only difference would be that I would rent for the day, as it takes a while to get round.

Easy to rent and reasonably priced. They provide everything you need. We did the three hour rental and could have used another hour. The day was gorgeous and we could have spent more time in the park.

Great way to see Central Park- recommend getting there early as there were queues waiting for returned bikes when we got back to the store. Highly recommend.

You may have to wait 10-15 mins when you go to collect your bike that may sound a lot but the queue can be massive but they are very quick so its not too bad.

Where you collect it from is about 2 blocks from the park obviously you can ride there but the traffic is really bad its far safer to walk esp if like me you are from the UK and dont normally ride/drive on that side of the road.

Once in the park its a great ride You really need to give yourself 4 hours at least as there are plenty of places where you are not allowed to cycle although that did not stop some doing so.

You do get a helmet and a lock the only problem can be finding somewhere to lock the bike too but most things that you may want to walk to are only a pretty short walk.

There is a lot to see which is why I say give yourself at least 4 hours

Great way to get around the park. As you keep stopping and park the bike to look around, 3 hours wasn't long enough.
