My friend recommended me to this tour and it was worth trying! Overlooking NYC from the top decker gave me a whole new perspective - one that's different from the movie scenes but as good! The cruise was good too even though it does not dock at the island just cruising around, but taking pictures from afar is better for capturing the whole statue.
This was really good and well worth the money paid for. The tour bus driver's name is Byron. He is knowledgeable and takes the time to stop the bus, come upstairs and share important information about the city. The Statue of Liberty boat tour was also great. We took the 3:00 P.M. They had organized it rather well. The only drawback to the tour is that the bus that took us to the boat tour was totally open-top. Taking into account the time of the year and time of the day, one could expect the tour organizers to have provided for covered double-decker.
A very important tour that is needed to get an overall view of NY. Great for transportation also.
For the price it was an excellent value. There were numerous other similar tour buses in NYC but all the ones I looked at were more expensive. This was convenient and informative and visited all the places we wanted to see. My only disappointment was they changed the times for a couple of the routes and didn't update that information on their site. I discovered it when I arrived. It meant we missed one of the routes as we didn't arrive early enough. Other than that it was a great trip and I would recommend it.
A really good value 3 day pass, much cheaper than the other companies and just as good.
Our guide Lee was very knowledgable and keen that everybody enjoyed themselves and answered all questions asked. He pointed out all the points of interest and explained the best stop to get off for various places etc.
The agent based at Central Park was brilliant when we redeemed our voucher, he split each set of vouchers up, explained what they all were and told us what pass included and what routes we could take, he couldn't of been more helpful.
Good value for money if do all tours and free bike hire and one hour cruise. Good way to find way round then either walk or use subway to sites
Excellent value for money, tour guides knowledgable and helpful especially Ilham. Worthwhile to use the bus as transport around the city.
I would totally recommend this for anyone! It was perfect! We could get on and off anywhere and not have to use a car or subway! Funny , educational totally worth the $$. We bought online for way cheaper! I think like $50. Per person. That was the way to go. Other sites were 100-200 per person
Knowledgeable guides , friendly, informative, very good price for sooooo many tours and treats.
New York was wonderful and this is a brilliant way to get yourself around and learning about the place.
It's a great way to get a general overview of NYC even for a Long Islander like myself. The Statue of Liberty Cruise was also pretty good, giving us many chances to take photos near the statue the boat goes near it, but you don't get off as well as the classic downtown skyline view you see in movies. The bus is definitely not the best way to get from point A to point B. The stops are sometimes hard to find at the less busier areas, the bus arrival times are unpredictable no timetable, and the city traffic makes it a tedious way to travel. Definitely use it to get your bearings on the city though.
Great tour for the price. My favorite tour was the Uptown portion as well as the Night Tour.
Cons: Didn and #39;t say Brooklyn and Bronx tours were only once a day. Also, the bike rental ended up being more than advertised so we didn and #39;t even do them.
The bus is a really good way to get to and see many of the major sites in New York City. The guide was informative and really added to the experience. The only negative was the challenge to turn the voucher in to actual tickets. None of the agents on the street could do this and kept sending us to the wrong tour director. Once directed to the correct office, all was good.
Great views on night bus and good value for money. However I was disappointed that the shopping bag we left on the last night bus was not found by the driver at the end of her shift and returned to the office to be returned to us. Also some buses had problems with sound, so guide could not be heard. Good way of seeing city though.
The buses, drivers and guys on the street were great! However, the green buses were not as regular as the red although provided different routes and the worst bit was that having bought the ticket through viator the paperwork says to go the the guys on the street to get our tickets, they couldn't, you have to go to the office, which is very difficult to find luckily their guys took us and the office staff were appalling!
Happy to chat to the postman and other people in the office but was off hand in the extreme to the guy who showed us the way and was extremely rude to us, would not make eye contact and literally threw a pen with receipt at us to sign for the tickets! Now being slightly annoyed to say the least I then insisted on getting her to confirm we needed to sign the receipt after which she turned back and accused us of being rude!!!!
Overall was okay, But had to walk pretty far to use the bike ride included, and never got to do the Liberty cruise, because of all the construction and traffic
This tour was great value however the buses are not as frequent as the Big Bus or City Sightseeing buses and the routes not as comprehensive. Having said that once on the bus the experience was very good.
Not as informative as other tours but good as a basic overview of the city.
personally we got uptown, downtown, night, brooklyn, bronx tours and only used downtown tour. this was great except it would be nice if there was a stop closer to 9/11 memorial. our tour guide, antonia, was fantastic! it was a little challenging getting our voucher exchanged to a ticket. we couldn't do it on street, had to go to main office.
The bus tours were a good experience, although a bit confusion due to stop shifting/displacement/skip...
Changing the voucher into tickets at the street agents was apperently highly complicated. To be improved.
very difficult to found who give my tickets
finally was a ticket seller at street and he ask me a tip because he don't receive any income and he was wasting paper
Tour ok - some guides better than others.
Buses not as frequent as other tour buses. Would recommend red buses next time.
You can get around much quicker and more efficiently walking and taking the subway. We were stuck in traffic for hours. There is not a personal tour guide like I read on some reviews, it's a automated recording that mentions a few things here and there and plays music the rest of the time. That said, perhaps we were just stuck in traffic for so long there wasn't much to see. We had to take the detour the first day and couldn't even go where we were supposed to and the second day was a bit better, but we decided to jump off and take the subway to where we wanted to go.
