3 star rating: Worth doing September 2015

I found the tour to be ok.staff on buses pretty helpful, but we did get offloaded at one stop and had to wait 30 minutes to next bus, so that was unexpected.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better September 2015

This bus company is in need of a thorough overhaul. The map depicting their route is very inaccurate and although replacements were ordered quite some time ago, none were available. We had booked a 5 day ticket and used the buses every day. Some of the buses do not have a working audio system. The guides walk up and down the bus repeating the same sentence as you pass by the places of interest or remain stationary so that only a handful of passengers can hear them. Some guides such as Alex were very knowledgable and professional while others who shall remain nameless could have written their entire information about New York on the back of a postage stamp. Buses often passed us by when we hailed them, even though they were almost empty and we were standing at a designated stop. The only sure way to get a bus was to walk to Bryant Park or Battery Park. We even had to walk to the United Nations because the bus does not go there anymore despite being on their map. Open Loop need to fix the audio systems on all their buses and employ professionals who have been adequately trained.
