Appalling tour - avoid

Without doubt the worst tour I have ever been on. Meeting point changed - not that the tour operator told us - had to work it out ourselves. Tour guide was grumpy and prattled on about politics and religion despite saying these topics were banned on his bus. Barely any mention of Christmas lights or history/traditions in NYC. Did not stop at the Rockefeller tree - glimpsed as we drove past. Ran past the lights at the Edge. No time to take photos. Nine people in our group who all voted to leave the tour the first chance we got - and we did. What a colossal waste of money.

Being left outside standing up in the drizzling rain to have a waffle and the hot chocolate it was very uncomfortable to be left in that situation at the end of the trip. When I first booked the tour was entitled Christmas lights at night but because you deleted a walking section we hardly saw any Christmas lights other than ones that you could have easily walked to and from memory initially the advertising said water will be available on the bus but there was nothing whatsoever available. This was not only my opinion but other people I talked to after the tour

Our guide (Luis ? ) was exceptional.! He was very knowledgeable and professional. He entertained us with little stories of New York back in the day. Also pointed out many of the city landmarks and the iconic places where famous movies were filmed. Thanks for such a memorable tour.! Ruth Barreto

It was ok. We expected more for the money. We didn't see very many Christmas lights....the bathroom stop was not very accommodating, it was a long walk for older people. Advertising it as a Luxury Holiday tour is not what you get.

We found that the tour guide was very knowledgeable. Even had music that referenced has story. Made sure everyone was comfortable and happy.

Good way to see some of the seasonal decorations of NYC. Our trip slowed somewhat by the crowds, but we were happy to be in a comfortable bus vs the bustle of the packed sidewalks. Guides very knowledgable and entertaining. Only disappointment was a half-hour wait for waffles at end of the tour for those that love waffles enough to stick around. Highly recommend this trip.

I had a great time on this tour. I was traveling with my friend and we decided to do a holiday tour. We got to see all the lights down 5th Avenue. We saw the Vessel, the Oculus (I think it's called) and more. Our tour guide Alberto was great he is extremely knowledgeable. I booked again for the January 4th tour when my family is in town so they can see the lights too.

Horrible. Viator should remove this tour. Day before tour got email saying it had completely changed and no refunds. First 30 minutes good then hours of riding through dark streets, no lights, poor commentary. Nothing like described. Viator should refund. Took a different full day ciry tour with Viator that was excellent. Something is wrong with this company. Entire ride was a disappointment. DO NOT TAKE AKE THIS TOUR. It may have been good at one time but now a total disaster. Tour was nothing like described. Have taken many Viator tours. This is first time I have written a negative review. Cannot express how bad it was.

Terrible Plan and Tour Guide not educated or informative

The tour guide was dressed as a construction worker. He was not trained or informative. Many people on the tour felt the same way. It is a good idea; executed very poorly. The company should be ashamed to take money from people with so little concern for their well being or customer satisfaction.

It was disappointing. The tour guide was ok but they said Holiday tour. I thought we would see more christmas lights and they would have Holiday music playing. It felt like being on any bus going through the city. Also you don't get the waffles and hot chocolate till the end and you had to wait in the freezing cold to get it. We didn't wait. It was very disappointing. It was my daughters 30th birthday i just thought it would be so much better

We chose this tour for little walking and emphasis on HOLIDAY lights. The day before we get a email from tour operator that emphasized that we were doing less walking and more lights. It was the total opposite! We ended up in Brooklyn in Dumbo and walking a lot— not what we want for our special needs son!! The guide’s stories were not in line with a holiday tour and why we spent so much time in Brooklyn looking at bridges escaped us all. Many people on the tour were confused and dumbfounded by this. Had we known this was the tour we would not have signed up for it. Also we were originally to end up at Rockerfeller Center and were dumped off at Herald Square— another long walk back to our hotel. This certainly was not in alignment with past Viator tours.

This luxury bus tour, of New York City lights, was the BEST!!!! From the experienced bus driver, bus cleanliness to our excellent tour guide, Albert!!! For 3 plus hours, Albert guided us through everything we were seeing.l historically to present day with accuracy and humor. We saw far more on this tour than expected. We completed the tour filling, happy, delighted, and enriched. With a special treat at the end, our delicious waffles and hot chocolate sitting in Harold Square looking at the beautiful lights of Macy’s department store..❣️❣️❣️

Loved the harbor view of Brooklyn Bridge. Would have been nice to have water provided. Thought we were going to visit the tree at Rockefeller Square but that did not happen. Overall good experience.

This tour was the worst we did on our trip and we deserve a refund. It was completely disorganised from minute one including the meeting point, roll call, bus organisation and sites that weren’t accessible. The tour finished very late due to the chaos that marred the whole tour. Names had to be called repeatedly throughout the trip and food orders were taken that never reached the food vendor therefore all the orders had to be individually resubmitted and waited for when we arrived at Herald Square. The bus didn’t have any toilet paper and our tour guide did not even to think to fix that situation guests who needed to go. The two tour guides LuLu & Ariana didn’t speak loudly enough when outside the bus, walked too fast and didn’t have adequate banners or signs to lead people in crowded streets. The instructions given of where the bus would be after two of the breaks resulted in 10 people going missing. There should be a system to use like a phone number to call when people get lost. The ladies did not take ownership if people got lost or Places we were told we were going to see on the description and we paid for, didn’t happen as the lanterns weren’t operating due to another event, we spent a ridiculous amount of time getting lost on the Oculus and the Saks light show had finished by the time we eventually got to the final stop. So two of the four major stops weren’t delivered, hence why I’m requesting a refund. We did not finish the tour till 10:30 instead of 9:30 not due to traffic but due to the disorganisation. I would never recommend this tour to anyone. Ariana apologised for the issues but Lulu took no real responsibility even though she seemed to be the leader. If I was her I would have been embarrassed at how appalling it was. In this day and age there are more efficient digital ways of checking people in, monitoring lost tour members and ordering tour meals. It wasn’t a bus tour, it was a wandering around tour. It wasn’t a Christmas lights tour, it was more of a whatever we came across tour the only Christmas lights we saw were Macy’s.

Let me start by saying my low rating has nothing to do with the tour guide. She did the best she could given the situation, as did the bus driver. The traffic in NYC was extraordinarily bad on the Saturday night we had our tour. Traffic was at a standstill in many places and there were hoards of people everywhere. We weren’t able to see quite a bit of what was promised. The waffle experience was also a disaster due to the crowds waiting for waffles. The waffle guys were cranking out the waffles as fast as they could. We unfortunately had some nasty people on our tour who chose to take their frustrations out on the tour guides. This was SO wrong and their anger was misdirected. The fault of the issues are with the tour company for promising something that couldn’t possibly have been accomplished unless the crowds had been significantly smaller. A tour that was expected to be 3-3 1/2 hours was 5 1/2 hours. It was a disaster and the tour guides took some serious abuse from a few people because of everything.

Tour was absolutely terrible ruined our day .. tour was scheduled for 530-9 we didn’t get off bus until 1030 and kids were starving and we couldn’t leave the tour guide and if we did they left ppl behind. The tour was not as advertised and luxury bus did not have bathroom amenities was told we could go no 1 but had to provide our own sanitary needs. We didn’t have time to do anything as it stated and attractions were closed as we got to them bc tour guide didn’t know what she was doing. Terrible is all I can say. Requesting a refund for the amount u pay for something nice this wasn’t worth it in a least bit.

Please reword the description of the tour. This was by no means a holiday tour. It was a tour of NYC to a couple upscale places. Very disappointing. Most people left before tour was over, including us.
