New York Contrasts Tour: Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx

Yankee Stadium in The Bronx

Most tourists who visit New York rarely leave Manhattan. Be a traveler and hop on this guided tour to explore three of the five boroughs, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Queens. Start with a ride up the Hudson River in a comfortable vehicle and cross over to the Bronx, home of the Yankees. Stop at Yankee Stadium for a fun photo op and then continue to Fort Apache where you’ll see the work of local graffiti artists.

After cross the Whitestone Bridge into Queens, the most ethnically diverse county in the country, and home to the Mets, the US Open tennis match, the 1964 World’s Fair and a particularly memorable scene from the film Men in Black. Move on to Astoria, a leafy neighborhood in Queens that his home to a sizeable Greek and Egyptian population. Sip coffee at a cafe and nosh on a tasty pastry.

Then head to Brooklyn, home to 2.5 million people and the fourth largest city in American (if Brooklyn were an autonomous city). In Williamsburg, epicenter of all hipsterism as well as a sizeable Hasidic community. After a visit to Williamsburg, get back in the shuttle and drive back to Manhattan, having now a more complete view of the Big Apple.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better July 2016

This tour could have been much better. We get off the bus just 3 times and therefore missed the real taste of the different areas. The thing I disliked the most was the tour guide. He made some sexist comments just after we started that were unpleasant for two girls sitting behind me and probably for many more, he got into politics as well. On the contrary, the bus driver was very professional and skilled, it looks quite hard for me to drive the bus in some narrow streets.
