A good tour for someone wanting to do several things in the one day. You begin the day by catching the ferry to the Statue of Liberty, you get to climb the pedestal, then back to the ferry to Ellis Island where you then have a lunch break. The afternoon session takes you through the 9/11 memorial site and finishes at the memorial museum, where you can spend the rest of your afternoon.
Guides Amanda and Jeff were very knowledgable and had lots of interesting facts throughout the day. They made the day run quite smoothly and gave little tidbits of information like which side of the ferry to sit on. I was glad I did the tour.
guide was informative and easy to follow along. worth the price and will recommend to others.
We did this our early October. We had Geoff as our guide and he was amazing, not to mention very patient and understanding as we were running late due to the uber ride from hell lol.
Geoff provided us with a very informative tour with tonnes of local knowledge. We loved the ferry ride over there , seeing the Manhattan skyline, New Jersey etc. Geoff even showed us wear to stand on the boat to get the best photos, helped take photos when we got to Liberty Island. Guided us with the museum when we got to Liberty Island, helped us take photos and we walked up into the pedestal to get an even better view. We also did an Ellis Island tour which was really good and I can't wait to go back to spend more time there. You are able to walk around Ellis Island unguided as this is where the tour ends for the Statue of Liberty tour but we had to leave early to go to a 9/11 walking tour. We can't thank Geoff enough for all the help and local knowledge he gave us. Talk to your guides they are the best source of local information!
We also did the 9/11 walking tour this day, I wouldn't recommend doing all of this in one day unless you're short on time. It was a long afternoon, informative but it was quite long and seemed to take a while to get to the actual 9/11 memorial site. We did see lots of New York though and hear lots of stories from our guide another Geoff in a coat and top hat
We really enjoyed this day though and would highly recommend it!
Brilliant. Tour guides Nikki and Rob were very informative and so passionate about everything.
A very educational and well-planned tour. Very inspiring and insightful. Our guide, Micheal was a local and very knowledgeable. The pace was easy and we managed to get in quite a lot of history. Even after 14 years, the area around the destroyed Twin Towers still gives you chills and evokes heart-wrenching memories
This was an excellent tour, very informative and our guide Mike was outstanding! This is a great tour for anyone visiting NYC who wants to know the history of the famous landmarks as well as the buildings of the World Trade Center and the stories behind them.
This really was excellent from the start to the finish. Knowledgeable and personable guide Mike M made the day seamless and we loved every minute. The sights from the ferry trip were staggering. Next time we would be tempted to have longer at Ellis Island but enough time there for part of a whole day package. Mike personalised sights and the city to make impressions far more vivid, and helped make the afternoon 9-11 Memorial visit particularly interesting and poignant
Excellent guide Rob, he explained in detail several aspects that you normally not hear about. He also ha d a good restaurant recommendation for a quick lunch.
Loved this tour! Alot to see but well worth the money spent. Our guide was great! Very informative on all the sites we visited. I highly recommend this tour!
incredibly informative . tour guide mike m. was incredible. would highly , highly recommend.
Applause! Applause! -- for call me Uncle Jeffrey Shonert, our recent tour guide of Miss Liberty. Expect a history lesson but become part of the act as this Broadway veteran sings his way to the top of the statue, offering anecdotes of New York City insiders, punctuated by dozens of vocal impressions worthy of comic actor Sid Caesar! Leave the island with a poignant reminder of the many different languages spoken here and a renewed sense of how Lady Liberty enlightened the world. - Glen F.
Our tour guide was fantastic. A natural actor, he made every location come alive with
emotions added to a multitude of facts at his disposal! Would recommend him to anyone
and use him again!
Tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions that where put to him, the tour was very enjoyable
We LOVED this tour with our enthusiastic and upbeat tour guide, Michael. Having never before been to New York, I feared feeling intimidated, but was impressed with how welcoming and accommodating Michael a native New Yorker was to our entire diverse group. We were young-to-old, from all over the USA, and included visitors from Denmark and London. We were there on a gorgeous, sunny day with temperatures in the 80's. Michael clued us in on where to stand for the best photo opportunities and even offered to take group photos for us with our own cameras. He shared concise historical information with clarity and peppered the tour with personal experiences and stories. I highly recommend this for anyone traveling to NYC!
Rob our guide was fantastic, full of energy and fascinating facts about the lady and the 911 events. The memorial tour was very personal to Rob as well as our visit to Ellis Island. He explained how to locate your family members and walked us thru all the steps. Our group had visitors from many countries so the diversity and the questions because of the diversity of the group really made being an American a proud moment. I would recommend this tour to any one new to the New York experience and I would recommend they ask for Rob when booking this tour.
Great experience , thank you for such a knowledgeable guide Robert . We'll definitely recommend and do this again
I have already completed my review once upon arrival home. However for our guide Rob I shall resubmit - Rob is the perfect guide - an excellent organisor and facilitator. Extremely knowledgable with a great attitude towards young and old. We had a fantastic day and have been recommending this tour since.
This was a wonderful tour and I would highly recommend it. Our guide, Jeff, was full of information at each site. I took my grandsons to New York and on this tour we did, Statute of Liberty, Ellis Island and the 911 Memorial.
We were able to see so much in a short time. Our guide, Mike, was very knowledgeable and provided with so much extra information that we would have never known about! We didn't have to wait in line for tickets and everything was very smooth! Great trip!!
Jeff and Patrick were great tour guides! They both were very informative and made the tour experience well worth it!
Uncle Jeffrey or as he became affectionately know as 'Sir Jeffrey' didn't let us down, that is the first comment I can make. His knowledge of this tour was excellent, and when inter twined with his humour, led to a very enjoyable if not lengthy day out.
If there is one criticism, it is that we spent far too much time at the Statue of Liberty and not enough time on Ellis Island. We would have loved to have spent more than just 30 minutes which had to include us getting something to eat on visiting Ellis Island.
So please Uncle Jeffrey, make sure you spend less time at the staue and a bit more time on Ellis island the next time we come. By the way our lips are sealed regarding the song and dance routine on the ferry.
