Great experience! Tour guide knew so much about the history, kept us all in order and moving a long and was very personable. If you go during the winter, like we did, dress appropriately. It was VERY cold and windy! The only regret is not spending more time on Ellis Island. We spent so much time at the Statue that we were all hungry and tired by the time we went through Ellis so didn't stay longer. GREAT TOUR!
Very informative and enjoyable tour. Loved it.
This was an absorbing, insightful and entertaining trip. Our host was warm and engaging and gave us an interesting perspective, based on his personal experience. Well worth it!!!
This tour was amazing, our tour guide Sal, Italian heritage and brought up in Brooklyn was soooooo knowledgeable and the tour was incredibly informative as well as fun!! Timing was accurate and instructions for meeting point was great too. We would most definitely use Sal as a tour guide for other experiences when we revisit NYC and would highly recommend him to others.
Thank you Sal :-
Loved the tour. The tour guides were informative and friendly. Liked that you could stay at Ellis Island as long as you wanted. We had lunch there and enjoyed the views of city and weather.
We really enjoyed this trip. The tour guide Derek was very informative and helpful. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about the history of immigration in America. We thoroughly enjoyed you whole trip.
Weather was awful, cold, wet windy, but our guide Mike made up for this. He was very knowledgeable and funny in presenting important elements of both. Ellis Island is a moving place to visit especially if you have had any relatives who have entered during the last century.
Our guide Sal was outstanding - exceptionally knowledgeable and interested in informing us about the city and Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island. Even made the effort to lay down on the ground to take photos of people with the SoL. Well worth it - be prepared for the crowds getting on and off the ferry and ferry can bob a lot in the waves
I have lived in New York City my entire life 30 years. It was during my mid 20s where I began to recognize all the people from around the world who visit and experience the glorious landmarks in and around my revered city. As a result both my partner and I decided that it is our responsibility to experience this city like a tourist.
I am so happy that I used Viator, and even more happy to have had Sal, a native New Yorker as our tour guide. He handled all the micro and macro concerns from preparing us for numerous checkpoints, to volunteering to take photos during multiple point on the tour, etc. Overall this experience is highly recommended.
This tour was great. Our guide Sal was very informative and well organized.
We could hear him fine with our earpieces. He even took pictures for us.
My teenage boys loved it too.
