Russ/Ross was the best tour guide I've ever experienced. He was knowledgeable as well as fun and interacted with those enjoying the tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Price was great. Guide/Bus Driver was pleasant, but most importantly informative along with being entertaining. We traveled through town and along the road with the many mansions with a great narrative from our Guide Russ. Breakers Mansion tour is self guided but wonderful as you could tour at your own pace.
Russ was our driver and shared his knowledge and passion for the city. Learned a lot and gave hints where to walk around later. We had Ltd time and the weather was cold. Dropped us at the Vanderbilt mansion for a guided tour that gave real insight to that era. Would definitely use iatrogenic again.
Tour of the Breakers Mansion was excellent, a bit rushed. We were taken past many of the other mansions but they were too far away from the road and with trees in the way, could not get pictures. Next time I would go with visiting more of the Mansions and not the drive around the area.
We enjoyed the tour especially the comfortable seats in the tour trolley. The tour operator was pleasant, helpful and informative. She knew in shared information about the various restaurants in the area and made recommendations based on personal interests. Overall, a great experience!
This tour and these mansions are amazing. The meeting place was next to our cruise ship debarkation point, the bus was comfortable and the guide was informative and personable. We had plenty of time to look around and take pictures. She gave us the right amount of information about the history and background of Newport.
We loved our Viator tour of Newport and the Breakers. This was the perfect way to acclimate yourself to Newport and get a thorough overview of the history and sights of Newport. We had taken Viator tours of both Paris and London and were not disappointed.
We opted for the 21/2 hour tour of Newport RI to see the many mansions and hear about its history. The Viator tour was the perfect choice. Trolley's were clean the driver was knowledgeable, and provided a wealth of information about the history of Newport during the Gilded Age. The best part was being able to personally visit one of the most famous mansions called "The Breakers" which was owned by the Vanderbilt Family. This was the highlight of the trip and opened our eyes to the wealth of this area during this period and why Newport RI is one of the best locations to visit if you are a history buff and enjoy beautiful mansions built during the Gilded Age. Thanks Viator and to our driver for giving a grand perspective of this time in our history.
Our tour guide was Russ and he was both entertaining and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed the bus portion of the tour and then we got to see The Breakers; what an incredible property! We will definitely book this tour again because we were only in town for one day but now we will be back for more of Newport’s history!
