Meet your guide at a central location in Asheville’s River Arts District at your selected departure time in the morning, afternoon, or evening.
Drive roughly 10 minutes up the river to your put-in point at Hominy Creek, where you will be fitted with a life jacket, grab your paddle, and decide where you want to stand on the 17-foot long (5.1 meter) inflatable paddle board. This board is wide, stable, and easy for beginners.
When you’re ready to hit the water and head to the French Broad, paddle for four miles beneath bridges, between rocks, and past scenic wildlife areas — look out for native animals such as beavers, otters, turtles, herons, and more in their natural habitat. Work with your group of three to six people to keep the board straight while your guide steers from the back.
Your paddleboard tour concludes at the original departure point.
