Admire the stately architecture as you approach Bambugh Castle. Otherwise known as the 'King of Castles', the structure is perched on a rocky outcropping overlooking the Northumbrian coastline, considered Coastal Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Proceed inside with your admission ticket, then begin your self-guided exploration of the displays, exhibits and artifacts. Visit the vaulted Kings Hall, featuring a teak beamed roof and the other thirteen State Rooms. Discover the models and artifacts contained in the Armstrong and Aviation Artefacts Museum, housed within the old Victorian laundry.
On the Battery Terrace, admire photo-worthy views and well-preserved cannons. In the summer, watch archaeologists at work excavating ancient Anglo-Saxon relics. Participate in the program of live events, including outdoor theater with re-enactors and traditional crafts that help bring the castle's history to life.
