My husband and I went on the Douro Valley Tour and had an absolutely amazing time. Our guide, Carla, was fun, funny and very informative. Our group had a lovely lunch at the last winery. We all remarked that it was a far better and far more substantial lunch than any of us had had in other wine tours. The scenery was unbelievable. The drive and boat tour alone were worth the price. And the wines were wonderful. It was really great to be able to experience smaller producers that were not readily available in Porto:). I highly recommend this tour to anyone thinking of taking a trip along the Douro, or wanting to experience a day outside of Porto.

Sara picked us up from our accommodation and was very welcoming and knowledgeable. We drove to the first vineyard which had the most beautiful views! The stand out for me was the lunch though, it’s not very often (in my experience on many wine tours) that the inclusive lunch is as great as this was! Basically 4 courses! The port we tasted was lovely and we bought a bottle to drink on the rest of our trip :) highly recommended this tour.

The Douro Valley day trip is a great way to see this incredible area in a short time. Our guide Sergio picked us up at our hotel. He was very knowledgable and provided interesting commentary along the route. The winery tour was interesting and informative and the port was good too! The one hour boat trip on the Douro was just long enough to take in the beautiful scenery along the river with more port. Our lunch on a deck overlooking the vineyards was incredible, great food and wine. More port tasting in the winery made for a quiet drive back to our Porto hotel! Would highly recommend this tour.

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the subject and area. The addition of the boat ride was wonderful. The lunch was as good as we have had in top rated restaurants. The views are spectacular and the wines and ports were great.

Our day in the Douro valley, and cruising the Douro river, could not have gone better. Ricardo, our guide/driver was prompt, friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. He brought us to several truly beautiful spots in the hills where we sampled some fine, small-production port wines. The tastings never felt like grudging or rote marketing of their products--rather it was master craftspeople eager to share their pride and knowledge. No pressure at all to buy anything. The lunch was really, really good in a hilltop winery with sweeping views. The leisurely river cruise was the perfect way to savor the after-effects of our many glasses of port, not too long, on water smooth as glass.

We had an amazing time on this trip and I would recommend this to anyone wanting to explore the Douro Valley in a day! We enjoyed the views, boat ride, wineries, food and lots of wine, and the best tour guide Diana - she really made this trip memorable!

I really loved discovering the beauty and magic of the Douro Valley. The small winery we visited in the a.m. was fantastic- they were super nice people and have great products. Their olive oil museum is also really neat! I loved visiting the Sandman estate and learning all about port, as well as the Douro River boat ride and port tasting. It was very enjoyable and relaxing! Our guide Sergio was friendly as well.

Our tour guide, Diana, was an absolute delight. She managed quite easily to speak with our group in three different languages so that we all were able to understand. The drive was pleasant and the destination well worth the trip. Gorgeous scenery, delicious wine and in all, a very pleasant day. Note: because the tunnel was closed due to an accident, Diana took us back to Porto via an alternate mountain route. Pretty scary roads for me, a Massachusetts driver. She handled it with great confidence and competence.
A wonderful day!

This was a really fantastic tour - Diana was great and very nice about a pick-up timing mix-up. The tour itself is a must-do! The Douro Valley is an incredibly beautiful region and would have been hard to access as efficiently without a tour. The boat tour was a lovely break and they even gave us Port during it! The two wineries are good -- interesting to see a big and small producer Sandeman and D'Origem. Loved the D'Origem owner small family-run winery and the wine/olive oil tastings. The lunch was also great traditional Portugese food, as promised -- first time I have ever been on a tour-run lunch where they let you order additional drinks e.g. soda without charging -- small thing, but indicative of this tour experience. Very well worth the money!
