The best way to discover Nuremberg’s Old Town is on a walking tour. A must-see sight is the Christmas Market in December – one of a kind! Keep an eye out for the famous little figurines made from dried plums as they are signature souvenirs from the Nuremberg Christmas Market.
After greeting your guide at a central location, you’ll embark on a relaxed stroll of Nuremberg’s old town. On this scenic amble, you’ll admire timber-framed houses, cobbled streets and the picturesque River Pegnitz.
Delve into Nuremburg’s history as you stroll around Nuremburg Castle (Kaiserburg): hear tales of emperors, saints and sinners and admire the elaborate, half-timbered façade of the Albrecht Dürer House. Additionally, you’ll learn of Nuremberg’s association with the Third Reich and the city’s Nazi history.
Marvel at the spire of St Lawrence Church, a building that was almost demolished during World War II, and then capture photographs outside of Schöner Brunnen — a replica of a 14th-century water feature.
After strolling through Nuremburg Castle’s (Kaiserburg) imperial courtyards, immerse yourself in the bustling ambience of Hauptmarket — Nuremberg’s bustling central square — to learn about the world-famous Christmas market held there.
Here, bid your guide a fond farewell and continue exploring independently.
Our tour guide was simply great. He told us where the entrances were to the churches and that a donation was requested so I was able to go back on my own to all three churches and enjoy them. I liked his lunch recommendation so much that I ended up eating there three days in a row! He gave me lots of information that made the rest of my stay in Nuremberg more enjoyable like showing me on the map where some of the other things to do were located and recommending spots for dinner. The tour was small too, only three of us plus our guide so it was very personal. Highlights of the tour for me were the castle and the clock on the square at noon. I decided to extend my trip and do the Rally grounds as well and was able to pay the difference in cash. This was a great walking tour. I would absolutely recommend it.
Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept it interesting!!
This was an excellent trip. Sabri our guide spoke very good English and was highly knowledgeable on the wide range of subjects that the tour covered. I discovered a lot more than I think I ever would have by myself.
Sabri was excellent as a tour guide, he added so many facts I did not know about Nuremburg. He was also patient with our large group and addressed everyone's questions. I would recommend him to anyone I know.
Good guide and good itinerary and good value.

Our guide, Jason, was knowledgeable and informative. A fairly small group, so a lot more personal than some of the huge groups we saw. Excellent value. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Nurnberg.
This tour was the highlight of our stay in Nuremberg. Our guide was the nicest person and was knowledge about the local history.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable about German history and did a great job of showing key sites and providing historical context. If you go plan to use this as a scouting tour for key places you would like to come back to and spend more time at.
